Bo Y ethnic contestant from Lao Cai won first prize in "Quintessence of Vietnam"

The video “Traditional Costumes of the Bo Y People” by Lo Pha Tu Anh introduces the steps to make the traditional costumes of the very small Bo Y ethnic group, the meaning of the costume patterns in the life and philosophy of the community. In addition, it also introduces how the community unites to preserve traditional costumes through many generations.

The "Quintessence of Vietnam" video clip creation contest started accepting entries from November 27, 2023. At the end of the preliminary round, the Organizing Committee of the contest received 11,734 entries from 67/67 provinces, City Youth Unions, and affiliated Youth Unions (an increase of 9,387 entries compared to 2021).

At the end of the voting round, there were 679,564 votes for the works on the program's website. As of May 5, 2024, the entries had more than 56 million views on digital platforms (TikTok, Facebook, website tinhhoavietnam.doanthanhnien.vn).

In the final round, the jury selected the 5 best works to award prizes including: 1 First prize, 1 Second prize, 1 Third prize and 2 Encouragement prizes.

In which, the first prize belongs to contestant Lo Pha Tu Anh, High School No. 1, Muong Khuong district, with the work "Traditional costumes of Bo Y people"; the second prize belongs to the group of contestants Ta Quoc An Vu, Pham Tran Nhat Anh ( Hanoi city), with the work "Quintessence of Quan Ho region"; the third prize is awarded to the work "Special National Relic Site - Lam Kinh" (HDU MEDIA Student Communication Club, Hong Duc University, Thanh Hoa province).

The second "Quintessence of Vietnam" aims to create an environment and conditions for union members, students and pupils to have the opportunity to learn and experience the traditional cultural values of the nation. Thereby, arousing love for the homeland and country, raising awareness and responsibility of union members, students and pupils in preserving, promoting and maintaining the national cultural identity, contributing to bringing information and images of Vietnam and the Vietnamese people to the world community.
