Focus on solutions to promote consumption
In order to stimulate consumption, the Hanoi People's Committee issued Plan No. 171/KH-UBND to implement the Program to stabilize the market of essential goods in 2025; Plan No. 299/KH-UBND on organizing the Hanoi City Concentrated Promotion Program in 2025. According to the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, the Hanoi City Concentrated Promotion Program in 2025 will have a series of rich activities with innovative programs to attract consumers.
Deputy Director of the Hanoi Center for Industrial Promotion and Industrial Development Consulting Nguyen Tuan Anh said that the program's peak activities have been implemented since July and will continue in November 2025 with the participation of 1,000 - 2,000 businesses and points of sale in Hanoi. Participating units apply discounts and promotions of up to more than 50% to stimulate consumption, contributing to increasing total retail sales in the area.
Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen The Hiep shared that, to help businesses increase revenue, during the implementation of the program, the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade also acts as a bridge to support businesses in bringing products to e-commerce platforms such as Shopee, TikTok Shop, Lazada... Through these activities, the Capital's Department of Industry and Trade aims to contribute to changing consumer habits, promoting e-commerce and digital consumption. At the key events in July and November, people can explore the digital transformation space "Touch technology, live smart" to participate in smart, cashless consumer experience activities, such as: Shopping via apps, QR codes, online flash sales, trying digital payment devices, experiencing applications of artificial intelligence (AI).
During the period of organizing the concentrated promotion program, the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade will organize the Hanoi Midnight Sale 2025 event on November 28. This is not only a regular promotional event, but also organized in conjunction with Black Friday - a global shopping festival, thereby creating a vibrant and attractive "night shopping festival" in the city. In addition, the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade also cooperates with brands to organize the "Branded Goods Promotion Day" event in the lobby of a 4-star hotel or an equivalent location.
According to Mr. Nguyen The Hiep, domestic consumption is the most important driving force among the three economic growth drivers. Therefore, in addition to promoting the recovery and development of the tourism and service industries, and exploiting the full potential of international visitors, it is necessary to continue to strengthen the purchasing power of the domestic market through appropriate policies to stimulate domestic aggregate demand and consumption.
With a series of diverse activities, innovative promotional events and trade promotion activities associated with promoting the building of Vietnamese product brands, Hanoi is striving to achieve the target of GRDP growth of 8% or more in 2025 and promote the increase in total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in the capital to reach a growth rate of 14%.
