Major General Nguyen Hong Phong appointed as Standing Deputy Secretary of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee

(Dan Tri) - Major General Nguyen Hong Phong, Director of the Department of Internal Security, Ministry of Public Security, was transferred and assigned to hold the position of Standing Deputy Secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, term 2020-2025.

On the morning of September 17, in Thanh Hoa, a conference was held to announce the decisions of the Politburo and Secretariat on personnel work.

At the conference, the Politburo decided to transfer and assign Major General Nguyen Hong Phong, Director of the Department of Internal Security, Ministry of Public Security , to join the Executive Committee, Standing Committee and hold the position of Standing Deputy Secretary of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

The Politburo also decided to transfer and appoint Mr. Nguyen Hoai Anh, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee, to join the Executive Committee, Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term and to introduce him to be elected as Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

Speaking at the conference, Head of the Central Organizing Committee Le Minh Hung said that Mr. Nguyen Hoai Anh and Mr. Nguyen Hong Phong are considered young cadres with capacity and experience in Party building and State management in the fields of political security, social order and safety; with scientific, decisive and profound thinking and working methods.

Mr. Hung also said that the Politburo and the Secretariat have asked Mr. Nguyen Hoai Anh and Mr. Nguyen Hong Phong, together with the Standing Committee of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, to immediately get to work, to promote all their abilities and responsibilities to work with the Party Committee, government and people of Thanh Hoa province to overcome difficulties, to ensure the leadership and direction of the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee.

"Thanh Hoa is a land of "spiritual land and talented people", a place with a glorious revolutionary tradition and great potential for development. Therefore, Thanh Hoa needs to do a special job in building the Party and the political system. This is of special importance and key to the development and breakthrough of the province in the coming time", the Head of the Central Organizing Committee emphasized.

Major General Nguyen Hong Phong (born 1979) used to work at the Ministry of Public Security and held the position of Deputy Director of the Department of Internal Security. In July 2022, he received a decision to become Director of Ha Tinh Provincial Police; in June 2024, he was transferred to become Director of Dong Nai Provincial Police.

In January 2025, Mr. Nguyen Hong Phong was transferred to the position of Director of the Department of Internal Security.
