The Prime Minister thanked President Luis Abinader for his warm and thoughtful welcome, saying that this visit is historic, creating new momentum and opening a new page in Vietnam-Dominicana relations.

According to the special correspondent of VNA, during the official visit to the Dominican Republic, on the morning of November 20 (local time), after the talks, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and President of the Dominican Republic Luis Abinader held a joint press conference to announce the results of the talks and witnessed the signing of cooperation documents between the two countries.
At the press conference, in front of a large number of officials and press from both countries, President of the Dominican Republic Luis Abinader once again warmly welcomed Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife and the Vietnamese delegation to visit Dominican Republic.
The President said that by establishing diplomatic relations and setting up an embassy in Vietnam, Dominican Republic hopes to accelerate its strategy of strengthening diplomatic relations with Vietnam.
In recent times, Vietnam and Dominican Republic have promoted many cooperative activities, sharing and supporting each other in many fields, especially agriculture, in which Vietnam has provided African swine fever vaccine to Dominican Republic.
According to President Luis Abinader, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s visit to Dominican Republic this time is of great significance. The President and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had talks and discussions to continue expanding and concretizing cooperation agreements; at the same time promoting new agreements, boosting cooperation between the two countries in areas such as defense, telecommunications, oil and gas, tourism and other areas of potential and need for the benefit of the two countries and their peoples.

Recalling the event when President Ho Chi Minh met with revolutionary Professor Juan Bosch, the first President of the democratic Dominican Republic, when he visited Hanoi to attend the Conference of Latin American countries in solidarity with Vietnam in 1965, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that Vietnam and the Dominican Republic have many similarities: similar ideals, all for national independence, happiness and prosperity of the people; two economies that can complement and promote each other's development; two countries with unique cultures; important geopolitics in the ASEAN and South American regions; high political trust; valuing friendship and valuing sincerity and trust; both countries have aspirations to build a strong, prosperous country, with happy and prosperous people.
Emphasizing that the above similarities are an important foundation for the two countries to promote cooperation to a new level, the Prime Minister suggested that the two sides speed up negotiations and sign four agreements, including the Free Trade Agreement; the Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement; the Agreement on Cultural Cooperation, Education, Training, Tourism, and People-to-People Exchange; and the Visa Agreement to create the best conditions for exchanges between the two countries.
According to the Prime Minister, the two sides discussed many potential areas of cooperation such as digital transformation, digital economy, building a digital society, telecommunications development; energy exploitation including oil and gas, solar energy, wind energy; agricultural cooperation, including vaccine production...; creating conditions and promoting cooperation connections between businesses of the two countries.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that in the current international situation, the two sides agreed to call for solidarity and enhanced international cooperation, not only for the two countries and their peoples but also for peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world, especially that Vietnam will be a bridge for Dominican Republic to cooperate with ASEAN and Dominican Republic will be a bridge for Vietnam to cooperate with the South American region.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh conveyed the regards, congratulations and invitations from General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, and personally invited the Prime Minister and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to the Dominican President and leaders to visit Vietnam on the occasion of the two countries celebrating the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
Thereby, raising the relationship between the two countries to a new level, going deeper, more substantial, and more effective, as the spirit that the Prime Minister and the President expressed in the talks was "what is said must be done, commitments must be carried out with practical results, bringing benefits to the two countries, the two peoples and creating an environment of peace, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.
Also here, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the President of the Dominican Republic witnessed the signing of cooperation documents including the Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of the Vietnam-Dominican Republic Joint Committee to promote trade and investment; and the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam and the Diplomatic and Consular Academy of the Dominican Republic.
Earlier, on the same morning, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife, along with the Vietnamese delegation, attended the Memorial Ceremony for the Founders of the Dominican Republic and laid flowers at the Memorial of the Founding Leaders of the Dominican Republic in the capital Santo Domingo, with the participation of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic Roberto Álvarez.
When Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife arrived at the Memorial and walked to the position of honor, the Vietnamese national anthem and the Dominican national anthem were solemnly played by the Military Band. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh laid a wreath bearing the words "Eternal glory to the fathers of the Dominican Republic."
Afterwards, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and delegates observed a minute of silence to commemorate the founding leader of the Dominican Republic.
The Dominican Republic Founding Leaders Memorial, with its main building being a mausoleum built of white marble, holds the remains of the founders of the Dominican Republic, collectively known as Los Trinitarios.
Inside the mausoleum are statues of the founders of the Dominican Republic such as Francisco del Rosario Sánchez, Juan Pablo Duarte and Matías Ramón Mella. In particular, there is an eternal flame lit to commemorate the Dominican patriots; at the same time, it represents the eternal flame of patriotism of the founders of the Dominican Republic./.
