Promote consumption of agricultural, forestry and fishery products

Việt NamViệt Nam07/08/2024

In order to promote the connection of consumption of quality and safe agricultural, forestry and fishery products, every year, departments, branches and localities in the province have organized and coordinated many activities to display, introduce, promote and promote trade for typical and advantageous products. Thereby, not only contributing to the learning and innovation of production processes for enterprises, cooperatives and producers, but also creating opportunities for exchange and connection to expand the consumption market for products, creating advantages for the development of the agricultural sector.

Promote consumption of agricultural, forestry and fishery products An Cuc (Nhu Thanh) spring roll products are widely consumed in the market.

According to statistics, on average, each year the whole province produces 1.373 million tons of rice; 682,300 tons of vegetables and beans of all kinds; 350,000 tons of fruit; 957,700 tons of sugarcane; 180,700 tons of corn; 168,000 tons of live pigs; 37,300 tons of buffalo and beef meat; 68,000 tons of poultry meat; 310 million poultry eggs; 54,000 tons of cow's milk; 13,500 tons of shrimp; 18,000 tons of clams; 85,000 tons of offshore seafood; 1,500 tons of marine aquaculture products... However, most of the products consumed are floating and freely on the market. Therefore, the province's agricultural, forestry and fishery production activities always have many potential risks, especially in the product consumption stage. To overcome difficulties in consumption and increase the value of agricultural products, in addition to raw consumption, many enterprises, cooperatives, production and trading households have proactively processed and "renewed" their products, which have been well received by the market and have great consumption.

Mr. Le Huu An, owner of An Cuc Nem Ong facility (Nhu Thanh) is one of the producers who has "raised the level" of local wild boar meat products. Mr. An said: Wild boar meat products or "armpit" pigs are well known in mountainous districts. However, when the number of households raising them is large and the supply is large, consumption is also difficult. Taking advantage of the province's famous sour nem products, we have researched, processed, and renewed nem products from wild boar meat and increased investment to improve product preservation quality, improve designs, and affix traceability stamps... We have been more creative in putting nem in bamboo tubes instead of traditional banana leaves so that the nem retains its flavor, has moisture, and is not dry when stored in the refrigerator. The important thing is that the nem is not only of good quality but also beautiful, and can be given as gifts. Therefore, the product is well received by the market and consumers. The annual consumption output is large, especially during the holidays. Therefore, the facility has linked up to consume wild boar meat raised according to safety standards for hundreds of households in the districts of Nhu Thanh, Nhu Xuan, Nong Cong, with an output of about 8 - 10 tons of meat/month.

The branding, trade promotion and consumption of An Cuc Nhu Thanh spring rolls are also of interest to the People's Committee of Nhu Thanh district, departments and branches. In particular, the product is recognized as a 3-star OCOP product and is participating in many fairs, exhibitions, and displays at events in the province and in other provinces; coordinating with the Provincial Post Office to bring the product to e-commerce trading floors postmart, voso... Thereby, contributing to expanding the consumption market for the product.

Not only organizing promotion and trade promotion for products, the agricultural sector and related departments and branches also step up inspection, supervision and guidance for agricultural production facilities in the province to complete the production process, ensuring quality standards. From there, participate in sustainable production and consumption chains.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai, Head of the Agricultural Products Processing and Trade Department under the Thanh Hoa Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Quality Management, said: The agricultural sector has supported production establishments to participate in training courses on production techniques, contract management, chain management and market development. Along with that, it is necessary to coordinate with units and localities to support farmers with knowledge on production according to VietGAP, GlobalGAP standards... to produce products that meet food safety standards and monitor contract implementation, ensuring the harmony of interests of parties participating in the chain. Thereby, since the beginning of the year, the agricultural sector has taken 24 samples of agricultural and aquatic products to monitor quality, preventing unsafe products from circulating on the market. Of which, 22 samples met the requirements, 2/24 samples violated. Through inspections and checks, product quality has been increasingly improved and enhanced to ensure compliance with regulations. Since then, many products have been introduced into large consumption systems, connecting and signing contracts with consumption units in provinces and cities across the country.

To facilitate businesses, cooperatives and people to introduce and consume agricultural products, on January 4, 2024, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 77/QD-UBND approving the Project on Connecting Production, Processing and Consumption to Increase the Value of Key Agricultural Products in Thanh Hoa Province by 2030. At the same time, every year, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development organizes a conference to connect supply and demand of agricultural products and safe food in Thanh Hoa Province with about 500 agricultural products on display and dozens of training sessions, supporting product consumption via e-commerce. Thanks to that, up to now, the whole province has over 100 businesses, 11 cooperatives and nearly 150 production, processing and trading establishments of agricultural products and OCOP products that have applied digital transformation to promotion and sales on e-commerce platforms: tiki, lazada, postmart.vn, voso.vn...
