Born in 1955, Dilip Shanghvi is considered one of India's most successful and visionary entrepreneurs. He is the founder and behind the remarkable growth of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. - India's first pharmaceutical corporation estimated to be worth 5 billion USD (about 124,362 billion VND).

Dilip Shanghvi started his career from scratch by helping his father with a small drug business. In 1982, at the age of 27, he founded Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Sun Pharma) with a capital of only 10,000 rupees (nearly 3 million VND) borrowed from his father.
