The great significance of the August Revolution in 1945 was not only in the long-term preparation process, on a large scale, changing the fate of a nation from slavery to becoming the masters of the country, but also in its pioneering role in reflecting the fundamental goals of the era: national independence, democracy and socialism. The August Revolution is typical of a national democratic revolution led by the working class.

Worthy of being the "sharp sword" and "steel shield" protecting the Party, State and people.

Over 80 years of construction, fighting and growth, under the absolute and direct leadership in all aspects of the Party and the support of the people, the Vietnam People's Public Security force has always promoted its core role in the cause of protecting national security, ensuring social order and safety, and is forever worthy of being the sharp "sword" and "steel shield" protecting the Party, State and people of Vietnam.

“Red addresses” marking the August Revolution and National Day September 2

The Tonkin Government Building, now the Government Guest House, No. 12 Ngo Quyen Street (Hoan Kiem Ward). Before 1945, this was the Tonkin Governor's Palace - the headquarters of the French puppet government in the North. On August 19, 1945, after a rally, the people of the capital and the Viet Minh forces marched to occupy the Tonkin Governor's Palace.

In the fall of 1945, under the leadership of the Party and Uncle Ho, the people of Hanoi and the whole country rose up to seize power, establishing a brilliant milestone in the glorious history of building and defending the country of our nation. Over the past 80 years, many places associated with the August Revolution and National Day September 2 in Hanoi have become "red addresses" for educating revolutionary traditions for the younger generation and are destinations for people and tourists when coming to the capital.
