The whole province has nearly 8,000 facilities raising special and characteristic animals.

According to statistics from the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, currently in the whole province there are 7,738 establishments raising special and typical animals.

Staff of the Thanh Thuy District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station provide disease prevention techniques for the rabbit herd of Yen Mao Rabbit Breeding and Processing Cooperative, Tu Vu Commune, Thanh Thuy District.

Including 6,934 honey bee farms; 21 wild boar and black pig farms; 83 spur-cock and black-bone chicken farms; 155 wild duck and stream duck farms; 4 earthworm farms; 8 sika deer farms, 67 pigeon farms; 21 silkworm farms; 3 horse farms; 417 goat farms; 19 rabbit farms; 2 ostrich farms; 4 quail farms.

This is a direction that has been strongly encouraged to develop in livestock farming in recent years because the consumer market still has great potential, is easy to care for, rarely has diseases and brings high economic efficiency.

To continue replicating the above models, especially supporting poor households, recently, units under the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development such as the Provincial Agricultural Extension Center; the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine have applied and integrated capital sources from the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the period 2021-2025; the livelihood development program of the National Agricultural Extension Center, the New Rural Development Program... to support machinery, equipment; breeds; initial food sources; organized nearly 100 training classes on livestock breeding techniques, care, disease prevention... for thousands of households in need.
