This morning, January 10, in Hanoi, the Central Internal Affairs Committee held an online conference to review the work of the Party's internal affairs sector and the activities of the Steering Committee (SC) for anti-corruption and anti-negativity (SC) at the provincial level in 2023, and deploy tasks for 2024. Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee on SC and anti-corruption Truong Thi Mai; Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee Phan Dinh Trac chaired the conference. Speaking at the conference, Standing member of the Secretariat and Head of the Central Organizing Committee Truong Thi Mai highly appreciated the achievements of the Internal Affairs Committee and the Steering Committees for Anti-Corruption and Discipline at all levels in performing well their assigned tasks, overcoming the situation of "hot" above and "cold" below, with no level areas or exceptions in directing the handling of cases and incidents.
Regarding the tasks for 2024, cadres and party members, especially the heads of each agency, organization and locality, must pay special attention to "self-reflection", "self-correction", setting an example, saying must go hand in hand with doing, and consider the fight against corruption as one of the key tasks and breakthroughs with the motto of resolutely and persistently preventing and repelling corruption.
In the implementation process, it is necessary to closely combine active prevention with proactive detection and timely, serious handling, while coordinating and promoting the strength of the entire political system and the people, synchronously implementing political, ideological, organizational, administrative, economic and criminal measures. Through the work of anti-corruption and anti-corruption, we can effectively carry out the work of Party building and rectification, build a clean and strong political system, and consolidate the great national unity bloc.
The report of the Central Internal Affairs Committee stated that in 2023, the committee will preside over and coordinate with the prosecution agencies to focus on advising and directing the removal of difficulties and obstacles, creating positive changes in the work of detecting, transferring, receiving, and handling information sources on corruption and negative crimes; and the work of appraising and valuing assets to recover corrupt and negative assets.
In particular, it has coordinated with the Standing Committee of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption and TC to direct the issuance of policies to differentiate and handle violators in cases and incidents related to Viet A Company, the vehicle inspection sector, Van Thinh Phat Group, SCB Bank, FLC Group...
In addition, continue to urge and guide competent authorities to better implement the coordination mechanism in detecting and handling corruption and negativity in the process of inspection, supervision, audit, investigation, prosecution, trial, and execution of judgments of the Standing Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption and Anti-Corruption.
In 2023, competent authorities nationwide transferred more than 500 cases and matters to investigation agencies at all levels for consideration and handling; prosecution agencies transferred many files and documents related to violations of party organizations and party members to the inspection committee for handling according to Party regulations, ensuring consistency, strictness, and timeliness between party discipline and criminal handling, administrative and union disciplinary handling of violating cadres, party members, civil servants, and public employees.
The provincial Internal Affairs Committee proactively coordinated with competent authorities to advise on bringing 260 serious, complicated corruption and negative cases of public concern to the provincial Steering Committee for monitoring, directing and regularly urging and monitoring the results of settlement. Of which, it completed the direction of handling 132 cases and incidents, while proactively monitoring, urging and advising the provincial and municipal Party Committees to direct the handling of many cases and incidents.
In 2023, the internal affairs committees advised the Standing Committees of the Provincial and Municipal Party Committees to direct the handling of 656 cases, including 321 prominent and complicated cases related to security and order. To date, 257 cases have been resolved; proactively monitored and urged 984 cases, of which 388 cases have been resolved.
The Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Discipline has focused on directing the final handling of many corruption and negative cases that occurred in the past, which were prolonged and had difficulties and obstacles, while at the same time directing the detection and prosecution of many new serious and complicated cases and incidents. Directing the conduct of many inspections, supervisions and audits with relatively comprehensive content, focusing on inspection and supervision of the detection and handling of corruption and negative cases, removing difficulties and obstacles in the work of appraisal, valuation and asset recovery...
The conference spent most of its time discussing and proposing 6 key tasks of the Central Internal Affairs Committee and 5 key tasks of the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Anti-Corruption in 2024.
