Summary of the Party's Internal Affairs sector's work and activities of the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness and Negativity in 2024

On the afternoon of December 31, in Hanoi , the Central Committee for Internal Affairs held a national online conference to review the work of the Party's Internal Affairs sector and the activities of the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness and Negativity (PCTNLPTC) in 2024, and deploy directions and tasks for 2025.

Attending and chairing the conference was General Secretary To Lam - Head of the Central Steering Committee on PCTNLPTC. Also chairing the conference were comrades: Phan Dinh Trac - Member of the Politburo , Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee on PCTNLPTC, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform (CCTP); Vo Van Dung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee; Nguyen Huu Dong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee. Also attending the conference at the central bridge were comrades Politburo members, Secretariat members, Party Central Committee members, representatives of leaders of central ministries, departments and branches.

The report at the conference said that in 2024, the Party's Internal Affairs sector and the provincial Steering Committees for Anti-Corruption and Prevention of Corruption made many efforts and attempts, completing quite comprehensively the tasks according to the work program with 10 outstanding events and results such as: General Secretary To Lam met and worked with leaders of central internal affairs agencies to thoroughly grasp a number of new policies and viewpoints on Anti-Corruption and Prevention of Corruption - Building a team of internal affairs agency officials "Strong - Sharp - Effective" (strong in law, sharp in professional skills and winning people's hearts); completed the development and submitted to the Politburo, the Secretariat and the two Central Steering Committees 10 major projects on internal affairs, Anti-Corruption and Prevention of Corruption and Prevention of Corruption; advised and organized well 3 sessions, 2 meetings of the Steering Committee, the Standing Committee of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption and more than 600 sessions and meetings of the provincial Steering Committees for Anti-Corruption and Prevention of Corruption; Coordinated, advised, and directed the handling of many serious, complicated corruption and negative cases that the public was interested in, following the viewpoint of "no forbidden zones, no exceptions", being both strict and humane, in accordance with the law; advised and organized more than 1,000 meetings and dialogues with citizens by the Secretary of the Provincial and City Party Committees; received and handled nearly 60,000 petitions, letters of reflection, complaints, and denunciations; and advised and directed the handling of more than 200 complicated mass petitions, contributing to maintaining political stability, social order and safety...

The provincial Steering Committees for Anti-Corruption and Discrimination have decided to put 155 corruption and negative cases under monitoring and direction; directed local prosecution agencies to prosecute 848 new cases/1,884 defendants for corruption crimes. In particular, many provincial Steering Committees for Anti-Corruption and Discrimination have advised and directed the promotion of anti-corruption in the non-state sector; directed the review and handling of projects and real estate facilities with signs of waste that are of public concern in the localities.

In addition to the achieved results, the activities of the Party Internal Affairs sector and the Provincial Steering Committees for Anti-Corruption and Crime Prevention in 2025 still have some limitations such as: the activities of some provincial Steering Committees are not really systematic and methodical; the progress and quality of research, advice and proposals of some provincial and municipal Party Committees' Internal Affairs Committees in some cases are still slow, do not meet requirements, and are not proactive in some cases; the work of advising and handling petitions, letters of reflection, recommendations, complaints and denunciations in some cases is still limited; the work of coordinating to grasp the situation, advising and directing the handling of some complicated cases, incidents and emerging issues regarding security and order in some localities is still confusing, and in some cases is still passive, not close and timely.

Speaking at the conference, General Secretary To Lam - Head of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption and Anti-Corruption acknowledged and commended the results achieved by the Party Internal Affairs sector and the provincial Steering Committees for Anti-Corruption and Anti-Corruption at the year 2024. At the same time, he emphasized that 2025 is of important significance, deciding the results of the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, towards the 14th National Party Congress, therefore, the Party Internal Affairs sector and the Steering Committees at all levels need to focus on improving the effectiveness of research work, proposing the Party's viewpoints, policies and orientations on internal affairs, anti-corruption and anti-corruption; focus on advising and directing drastic implementation, creating strong and breakthrough changes in the work of preventing and combating waste in the whole society; Advise and organize the National Conference to summarize the work of PCTNLPTC in the 13th term to comprehensively assess the results, limitations and causes, accurately forecast the situation, propose breakthrough tasks and solutions, and further improve the effectiveness of PCTNLPTC work in the new situation.

In addition, it is necessary to coordinate effectively in the work of evaluating personnel for congresses at all levels, resolutely not allowing degraded, negative, and corrupt cadres to enter the new Party Committee; strengthen and further improve the effectiveness of coordination in monitoring and grasping the situation, advising the Party Committee to resolve outstanding and complicated issues arising, related to the political security situation, social order and safety; pay attention to listening to and effectively resolving the legitimate aspirations and wishes of the people, thoroughly resolving complaints, denunciations, recommendations, and reflections of the people right at the grassroots level; thoroughly handle mass, complicated, and prolonged petitions, not allowing hot spots to arise, not allowing passive surprises; continue to consolidate and perfect the organizational apparatus, building a team of cadres of the Party Internal Affairs sector that is truly "Strong - Sharp - Effective"...
