Russian President Vladimir Putin speaks at a press conference in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on May 28 during a visit to the Central Asian country. Mr. Putin warned that European members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) are "playing with fire" when proposing that Ukraine use Western weapons to attack deep into Russian territory, which he said could cause a global conflict. The Russian leader said that NATO members in Europe "should be aware of what they are doing", because they have small areas and very dense populations.
