
Attending the event were Head of Department II of Local Affairs (Central Internal Affairs Committee) Doan Hong Ngoc; Head of Internal Affairs Committee of Da Nang City Party Committee Vo Cong Chanh; Vice Chairman of the City People's Council Doan Hung Ngoc Anh along with representatives of city departments, branches, and authorities of 3 communes: Tay Ho, Chien Dan and Phu Ninh.

Held for the 15th time, the Phan Chau Trinh Award honors and commends outstanding students and postgraduates from three communes of Phu Ninh district (old); at the same time, it promotes the tradition of studiousness, encourages and promotes the training and nurturing of talents.
After a selection period, the Organizing Committee of the Phan Chau Trinh Award 2025 decided to award 76 outstanding individuals who are children of Phu Ninh district (old) with outstanding achievements in study and research.
Among them, 2 students won international math prizes; 6 students won first prizes in provincial-level excellent student competitions; 3 students won second and third prizes in national high school excellent student competitions; 52 students graduated with honors and excellent grades from regular universities and 2 postgraduate students were awarded doctorates, masters and specialist I degrees.

Vice Chairman of Tay Ho Commune People's Committee Phan Van Ba said that Phan Chau Trinh Award was widely promoted inside and outside the locality, receiving support from many agencies, units, students, and postgraduates.
“The efforts in studying and training to achieve excellent results are not only an honor for the students themselves and their families, but also a source of pride for their hometowns of Tay Ho, Chien Dan and Phu Ninh. This is a source of encouragement for the next generations to strive on the path of studying and establishing themselves and their careers,” Mr. Ba shared.

On this occasion, businesses, philanthropists and relatives of Phan Chau Trinh contributed to the Phan Chau Trinh Award scholarship fund and donated 10 bicycles to support disadvantaged students in Tay Ho commune to go to school.

Phan Chau Trinh was born on September 9, 1872, an excellent son of his hometown Tay Loc, Tam Loc commune (old), now Tay Ho commune, Da Nang city. He passed the Pho Bang exam in the 13th year of Thanh Thai (1901), and was not only a profound scholar of Confucianism but also well-versed in Western learning.
Throughout his life, he always held high the flag of democracy and social reform, advocating saving the country by improving people's knowledge and civil rights. The policy of taking improving people's knowledge as the foundation for social reform of Phan Chau Trinh in the early 20th century, was an innovative thought in the path of saving the country compared to his predecessors at that time.
Phan Chau Trinh's ideology of "enlightening the people, strengthening their spirit, and improving their lives" which promotes education as a way of being human and developing society is a very correct ideology and still holds true today.
Phan Chau Trinh's talent, heroic spirit, and passionate love for his country and homeland will shine forever, a source of pride for future generations.
