120 million VND is needed to participate in the scholarship program.
On the morning of December 16, FPT University issued a warning about a fake document from the school announcing the Japanese Government scholarship program being sent to students.
This notice is dated December 15, 2024, with the following content: "Based on the announcement of the Embassy of Japan in Hanoi on the Japanese Government granting short-term scholarships. Number of preliminary candidates: 120.
Recruitment objects: Vietnamese citizens with good political and moral qualities; truly desire to study in Japan; have good health to study abroad; not currently serving disciplinary action or being considered for disciplinary action by competent authorities.
The scholarship program is 100% funded by the Japanese Government, including round-trip international airfare, tuition, expenses, and sightseeing during the study period.
The program lasts 3 months and all expenses will be covered by the school. When you decide to participate, the school will organize a parent meeting on campus.
To participate in the program, the school requires students to prove their financial ability, specifically, they need to have 120 million VND in their bank account to get a bank statement to submit to the school. The school notifies all staff, lecturers and students who are in need and meet the course requirements to register to participate.
This notice has full number, stamp and signature of Principal Le Truong Tung, however FPT University belongs to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Beware of fraud according to 3 principles
Speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , Dr. Le Truong Tung - chairman of the board of FPT University - affirmed: "This is a fake document. This time it is a scholarship fraud for studying abroad. I am currently the chairman of the board of the school, but the notice states that I am the principal. FPT University is transferred to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development."
According to Mr. Tung, recently, there has been a lot of fraudulent information related to study abroad brokerage, recruitment, and enrollment associated with the names of units in FPT Edu. At the same time, he suggested that everyone should be vigilant according to 3 principles:
All official information must be published on the school's official information portals.
Regarding finance, FPT Edu strictly applies the principle of not using cash, all payments, if any, are made through the school's account, not in the name of individuals or other entities.
Financial rule number 1: money that leaves your pocket is no longer your money.
"Therefore, people need to be extremely careful when disbursing money. If this principle is thoroughly applied, it can solve 90% of money-related fraud cases in society," Mr. Tung noted.

Previously, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry also issued a warning about the situation of forged school documents.

MSc. Nguyen Thi Thuong - Director of the school's information and communication center - said: "Recently, the school received feedback about falsifying information about international student exchange meetings through written invitations to international student exchange meetings of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry."
This document was sent to the school's students to "congratulate students who are eligible to enroll in the international student exchange program in Japan...", and included information about scholarships (tuition and living expenses) of up to 100%.
Regarding this issue, the school has officially announced that the school did not issue the notice of the above-mentioned meeting program. The fact that organizations and individuals take advantage of the school's brand and image to conduct illegal content activities violates the law and has not received written consent from the school.
At the same time, it is recommended that organizations and individuals follow the school's official information channels to learn and verify information as accurately and completely as possible, to avoid being taken advantage of by bad guys.
