Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online on the evening of February 26, Mr. Le Anh Duc - principal of Dong Nai University - said that he had sent a document to the People's Committee of Dong Nai province requesting to withdraw the content of the previous report on the school's personnel and work.
The reason is that the school's report that dozens of highly qualified teachers, including associate professors, doctors, and masters, are likely to be unemployed has caused frustration among many lecturers at the school.
"The school would like to withdraw the report to the Provincial People's Committee because the wording in the document is not standard, causing misunderstanding," Mr. Duc explained.
Previously, Mr. Le Anh Duc signed report No. 174/DHĐN-TCHC&QT sent to the People's Committee of Dong Nai province stating that in recent years, some university training majors have low enrollment or no enrollment.
Specifically, the majors of history pedagogy, physics pedagogy, chemistry pedagogy, biology pedagogy, environmental science and land management in 2023 cannot enroll students.
In particular, the biology pedagogy major could not enroll students for all four years of 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023... The report mentioned that "it is impossible to arrange jobs in the near future" for lecturers, causing some lecturers who are teaching normally at the school to react because it "seriously harms the rights and legitimate interests of citizens".
Explaining further about the above incident, Mr. Duc said that the current situation of the school is difficult and there is a risk that in the near future some majors will face difficulties such as biology, history, geography and some majors will lack PhDs such as environmental science, land management...
Therefore, the school would like to withdraw the report to complete the training plans, open more majors in culture, tourism , physics and science... to report to the province to solve the work for the school's lecturers.
