On the morning of July 12, the principal of Nguyen Hoang Primary School, Ms. Bui Thi Huong Lam, said that the People's Committee of Trieu Phong Commune (Quang Tri) had just held a conference to announce the decision to establish schools and appoint managers of educational facilities in the area.

Accordingly, Ai Tu Town Primary School was renamed Nguyen Hoang Primary School, under the People's Committee of Trieu Phong Commune, on the basis of receiving the status quo from the old unit managed by the People's Committee of Trieu Phong District (old). The school's management staff continued to be appointed to their current positions, including Ms. Bui Thi Huong Lam - principal, and 2 vice principals.

"This is the joy and pride of the school to be named after Lord Nguyen Hoang - the lord who had great merit in exploring and expanding the country's territory to the South and established the first career on Trieu Phong land. This helps educate and arouse good traditions and patriotism for generations of students," Ms. Lam shared.

Ms. Lam added that renaming the school to Nguyen Hoang was the passion of many leaders of Trieu Phong district (old) and the school over the past decade. This is the first primary school named Nguyen Hoang in Quang Tri . The school currently has nearly 700 students.

Established in 1996, for many years the school has maintained the title of "Strong Union" at the provincial level, and has been commended by the Central Youth Union and superiors. The school was awarded the Third Class Labor Medal by the State in 2016, the Prime Minister awarded a certificate of merit for its outstanding achievements in education and training from the 2016-2017 school year to the 2020-2021 school year, and the Provincial People's Committee awarded the emulation flag in 2017...

Previously, on July 1, the People's Committee of Trieu Phong commune issued Decision No. 15 on the establishment of Nguyen Hoang Primary School. The renaming of the school is associated with a special historical milestone. Lord Nguyen Hoang (1525 -1613) - the first of the 9 Nguyen Lords, the founding father of the Southern region - established the first citadel in Ai Tu, now Trieu Phong commune. From this land, he created the foundation for the Dang Trong government and the sustainable expansion of territory to the South later.

The establishment of Nguyen Hoang Primary School not only meets the administrative management requirements in the new period but also contributes to spreading the historical and cultural significance of Trieu Phong - Ai Tu land, which was once the capital of the country's founding period.

In order to preserve and promote that special historical value, Quang Tri province is implementing the planning of a national relic site of locations related to the Nguyen Lord's palace. The planning scope includes Trieu Phong and Ai Tu communes, with the goal of restoring and embellishing historical sites such as the Nguyen Hoang Lord's temple, exhibition house, square and cultural and festival space. The total proposed budget for the first phase is about 20 billion VND.
