The Lantern Festival is an intangible cultural heritage that has been included in the series of events to celebrate the nation's traditional New Year and is one of 19 typical cultural, artistic and festival events in Ho Chi Minh City. This is the pride of the Vietnamese community of Chinese origin in the city in general and District 5 in particular.
Many activities during the 2024 Lantern Festival in District 5: Exhibition of images of the national intangible cultural heritage "Social customs and beliefs of the Lantern Festival of Chinese Vietnamese in District 5, Ho Chi Minh City" from February 17 to February 25; Vietnamese Poetry Night; Ong Nghinh Quan Thanh De Quan tour; Street art parade... and many other activities.
Among the activities, the street art parade is the highlight, attracting a large number of people to wait and participate.
These activities take place on many main streets of District 5: Chau Van Liem, Lao Tu, Luong Nhu Hoc, Nguyen Trai, Tran Xuan Hoa, Tran Hung Dao and Chinese Assembly Halls...
