During the FIFA Days (national team gatherings according to FIFA's schedule) in September, the Vietnamese team did not play any international matches. Instead, we only participated in two friendly matches with domestic clubs Nam Dinh and Hanoi Police.

Therefore, the Vietnamese team's score remains the same. However, we still dropped two places in the FIFA rankings, falling to 115th in the world as the opponents below us rose.
Two African teams, Madagascar (plus 14.69 points, up 3 places) and Libya (plus 15.41 points, up 3 places) both won important victories in the African World Cup qualifiers against the Central African Republic and Angola. Thanks to that, they made progress in the FIFA rankings, pushing the Vietnamese team down.
Not playing international matches during FIFA Days has caused the Vietnamese team to miss the opportunity to increase its points in the FIFA rankings. In the Southeast Asian region, Indonesia (beating Chinese Taipei), Thailand (beating Fiji), Malaysia (beating Singapore) all increased their points after winning friendly matches.
The teams still have one more match during FIFA Days in September. Therefore, the position of the Vietnamese team is likely to continue to fluctuate.

On September 7, the Vietnamese team (led by coach Dinh Hong Vinh) will face the Hanoi Police Club in a friendly match. Before that, the “Golden Dragons” suffered a 0-4 loss to the Nam Dinh Club with all foreign players.
It was not until October that the Vietnamese team returned to international competition when they faced Nepal in two matches taking place on October 9 and October 14.
Meanwhile, Indonesia will face Lebanon in a friendly on September 8. Thailand will face Iraq in the King's Cup final on September 7. Malaysia will play a friendly against Palestine on September 8.
