Estimated added value of Hanoi industry in 2025 to increase by 7%

In the period of 2025-2030, Hanoi strives to become a high-tech industrial center, a trade hub of the whole country, and develop modern distribution forms. This is the goal set at the Party Congress of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade for the 2025-2030 term, which took place on June 19.

During the 2021-2025 term, many targets were exceeded. Specifically, by the end of 2025, the estimated added value of the industrial sector increased by about 7%, with an average increase of about 5.94% per year in the 2021-2025 period.

The industrial and construction structure in GRDP accounts for 22.5-23% and the added value of processing and manufacturing industry in GRDP accounts for about 17%.

The average growth rate of total retail sales of goods and service revenue is about 10%/year. The average growth rate of export turnover is about 5.1%/year (end value is about 19,439 million USD)...

In recent times, the Department of Industry and Trade has promoted administrative reforms; closely coordinated with departments, branches, People's Committees of districts, towns to remove difficulties, support and promote the development of industrial, commercial and energy infrastructure in the area.

Regarding Party building work, the Party Committee of the Department of Industry and Trade has thoroughly grasped and developed a plan to implement the Resolution of Party Congresses at all levels; admitted 15 new Party members, exceeding the target by 50%.

During the 2025 - 2030 term, the Party Executive Committee of the Department of Industry and Trade will focus on successfully implementing the political tasks of the industry, contributing to maintaining economic stability, controlling inflation, along with accelerating growth rate, ensuring sustainable economic development.

Regarding specific targets, the added value of the industrial sector in the 2026-2030 period is about 13.2-14.2%/year. Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue grow 14.45-16.48%/year. Export turnover of goods grows 11.9-14%/year...

Speaking at the congress, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen requested the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade Party Committee to propose practical policies and mechanisms to help the Hanoi People's Committee in State management, contributing to making Hanoi a high-tech industrial center of the country.

In the process of attracting investment capital, Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade focuses on green industries that do not affect the environment.

In the trade and retail sector, it is necessary to promote upgrading and renovating traditional market systems, developing modern supermarket and outlet systems to support businesses in consuming products.

Market management forces strengthen market inspection and control; promote dissemination of legal regulations to people, businesses and production households.

In particular, the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade needs to clearly define the responsibilities of the units in charge of the area. If counterfeit or smuggled goods that violate food safety and hygiene occur in any locality, that locality must take responsibility.
