To set a record, the IVF lab system of Tam Anh General Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City was compared and evaluated to confirm its superiority. The ISO 5 standard embryo culture room helps maintain a "clean room" environment with extremely low density of dust particles and microorganisms, reducing the risk of bacterial, fungal, and viral infections, limiting volatile organic compounds that are toxic to cells, thereby improving fertilization efficiency, blastocyst development rate, implantation ability and live birth rate.
The “lab within lab” design with the ISO 5 embryo culture room located in the ISO 6 gamete and embryo manipulation room creates a separate, stable environment for the development of gametes and embryos. IVF Tam Anh Ho Chi Minh City is the pioneer in applying this design in Vietnam and Asia.
MSc. Dr. Giang Huynh Nhu, Director of Tam Anh IVF Center in Ho Chi Minh City, the scientist who designed and operated the “lab-in-a-lab” system, said that the entire process of construction, installation of the gas system, equipment and materials were strictly implemented to protect embryos and gametes. The ISO 5 embryo culture room is equipped with a vertical ventilation system, the air passes through many layers of filters and deodorizers, and has a tunnel connecting to the level 2 biological safety cabinet, minimizing the risk of contamination and ensuring an optimal culture environment. For 5 consecutive years, the hospital's embryology lab has been recognized by the Pasteur Institute for ISO Class 5 standards for air quality.
According to doctors, the ultimate goal of IVF is not only to help get pregnant and give birth, but also to ensure that the baby is born healthy and the mother is in good health. Breakthroughs in embryology technology and the ISO 5 “lab in lab” laboratory, along with many other advanced technologies, have contributed to increasing the success rate and improving the quality of transferred embryos.
