According to Taras Kobishchanov’s forecast, Egypt will lead the overall outbound tourism market in terms of the number of tours sold in the winter of 2025/26. The key factor in this result is that prices are also comfortable for the majority of consumers. Meanwhile, Thailand will retain its second place in terms of sales despite fierce competition from Vietnam and a slowdown in tourism growth.
Mr. Taras Kobishchanov said that Vietnam will rise to third place this winter, although last year there were no charter flights organized by travel companies. Thanks to the appearance and expansion of charter flights, the number of visitors to Vietnam is increasing sharply. He also noted that a part of visitors from the Thai market will choose Vietnam as a destination this winter (Russian Express estimates that this accounts for about 10 - 12%).
According to Mr. Kobishchanov, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with Dubai as its main destination, will rank fourth in group tour sales, almost equal to Vietnam.
China is also expected to be among the top five destinations for Russian package tourists this winter, thanks to the visa-free policy driving sales growth. Mr. Kobishchanov said Hainan Island will continue to lead the way, while the share of tours to mainland China is also certain to increase. Russian Express predicted explosive growth in tours to China thanks to the new visa-free policy.
