Under the direction of the Ministry of Science and Technology , since July 23, Viettel Network Corporation has opened roaming, connecting telecommunication waves so that users of all networks can communicate via Viettel waves in isolated areas. Specifically, Viettel has opened roaming in 16 communes in the Nghe An border area and today (July 24) continued to add 11 more communes, bringing the total number of communes roaming into the Viettel network to 27, ensuring that mobile subscribers in these areas basically maintain operations, meeting communication needs for rescue work.
In addition, Viettel Network Corporation has prepared a solution to use drones combined with satellite broadcasting. Drones fly at an altitude of hundreds of meters, creating a coverage area of 6 km radius, can reach flooded areas, landslides or mountainous terrain in conditions where roads are isolated and broadcasting vehicles cannot reach, ensuring smooth communication to serve search and rescue work and people in this area.
Viettel also mobilized hundreds of information rescue teams to support provinces affected by natural disasters; handle fixed broadband subscriber problems and repair generators. At the same time, it also reserved information rescue materials to be ready for any situation.
