Case of 29 workers suspected of food poisoning in Hung Yen: Proposal to stop providing meals

After lunch, on the afternoon of August 7 and the morning of August 8, 29 people came to Tien Hai General Hospital (Ai Quoc commune, Hung Yen province) for examination and treatment with symptoms of abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and frequent diarrhea.

Through investigation and verification of information about suspected food poisoning at the TOYODA GOSEI Limited Liability Company Branch (Tien Hai Industrial Park, Ai Quoc Commune, Hung Yen Province), the Food Safety and Hygiene Department of Hung Yen Province requested Sao Viet Food and Tourism Joint Stock Company to stop providing meals at the collective kitchen of the TOYODA GOSEI Limited Liability Company Branch when it has not been granted a Certificate of food safety eligibility.

While waiting for the results of the drinking water sample test, the Provincial Food Safety and Hygiene Department requested the TOYODA GOSEI Limited Liability Company Branch to temporarily stop using bottled drinking water from NGK Thanh Cong Tien Hai Limited Liability Company and have the most suitable plan for using drinking water for workers.

At the same time, the Provincial Food Safety and Hygiene Department requested NGK Thanh Cong Tien Hai Limited Liability Company to review the entire production process, focus on water source quality and hygiene of the entire production area, rinse water containers to ensure the quality of safe bottled drinking water to consumers, and at the same time comply with legal regulations on product labeling.

Sao Viet Food and Tourism Joint Stock Company and NGK Thanh Cong Tien Hai Limited Liability Company must strictly comply with legal regulations on food safety to ensure food safety according to legal regulations.

TOYODA GOSEI Co., Ltd. Branch needs to coordinate with Tien Hai Medical Center to disinfect the food processing and serving areas, the dining room and the area around the company's collective kitchen.

The People's Committee of Ai Quoc commune coordinates to supervise establishments to properly implement legal provisions.

Previously, on the afternoon of August 7 and morning of August 8, 29 people came to Tien Hai General Hospital (Ai Quoc commune) for examination and treatment with symptoms of abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, frequent bowel movements, and loose stools.

All 29 cases are workers of TOYODA GOSEI Co., Ltd. Branch and are related to the lunch on August 7 at TOYODA GOSEI Co., Ltd. Branch.

Lunch menu that day included: lemongrass fried chicken, fatty sausage, onion-marinated tofu, pickled cabbage, squash and bone soup, and jicama.

NGK Thanh Cong Tien Hai Limited Liability Company is the drinking water supplier, while Sao Viet Food and Tourism Joint Stock Company is the unit that processes and provides meals for workers at the collective kitchen of TOYODA GOSEI Limited Liability Company Branch.

By August 11, all 29 patients had been discharged from the hospital./.
