The case of the Central Highlands General Hospital is under the monitoring of the Central Steering Committee.

(Dan Tri) - The case of "Abusing position and power while performing official duties" at the Central Highlands General Hospital was included in the list of cases being monitored and directed by the Central Steering Committee on Anti-corruption, Wastefulness, and Negativity.

On September 29, the Standing Committee of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness, and Negativity (Steering Committee) held a meeting to discuss and give opinions on the results of directing the handling of corruption, waste, and negativity cases and incidents since the 28th meeting.

The meeting also gave opinions on the results of reviewing, handling and inspecting projects that are behind schedule, have long backlogs and pose a risk of loss and waste.

According to the assessment, the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity continues to be implemented resolutely and methodically, achieving many practical results, contributing significantly to the work of building and rectifying the Party, the political system and socio-economic development.

Regarding the tasks in the coming time, the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee requested to focus on inspecting, examining, investigating, and thoroughly handling serious, complicated corruption, waste, and negative cases that are of public concern.

The Steering Committee strives to complete the investigation, prosecution, and trial of 22 cases by the end of 2025 and before the 14th Party Congress, and complete the verification and handling of 6 cases.

In particular, the Steering Committee noted the cases related to Thuan An Group (phase II); the case of waste related to the project of building the second facility of Bach Mai Hospital and the second facility of Viet Duc Friendship Hospital; the project of building the VICEM Operation Center, Vietnam Cement Corporation; cases related to the field of food safety; the case that occurred at the Central Institute of Forensic Psychiatry...

In particular, according to the Steering Committee, agencies need to focus on investigating and thoroughly handling cases of collusion between corrupt and degenerate officials and businesses for personal gain, especially criminals hiding under the guise of businesses, in accordance with the spirit of "prosecuting one case, alerting the whole region and the whole field". The management, licensing, and exploitation of minerals nationwide also need to be directed to be reviewed as a whole, inspected, and examined to promptly correct violations in order to strictly manage and improve the efficiency of exploitation and use of these important resources.

Second task, the Steering Committee requested to completely handle projects that are behind schedule, have long backlogs, and are at risk of loss and waste; and put 11 projects into operation and use in 2025.

Along with that, the agencies need to urgently complete and conclude the inspection of 563 projects with difficulties and problems to have measures to handle and resolve immediately; speed up the progress of handling headquarters, houses, and surplus land in localities after the apparatus arrangement, implementing two-level local government; absolutely do not allow damage, degradation, encroachment, loss, or waste.

The third task noted by the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee is to strengthen power control, prevent and combat corruption, waste, and negativity associated with building a truly honest two-level local government apparatus that serves the people, especially at the grassroots level.

Along with that, the Steering Committee proposed to strengthen inspection and supervision of the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity in the organization and operation of grassroots government.

Along with proactively and promptly grasping public opinion and people's reflections on manifestations of corruption, waste, and negativity at the grassroots level, the Steering Committee requires strict and public handling of acts of corruption, waste, and negativity in handling the work of people and businesses.

The fourth task, the Steering Committee requires a stronger shift to focusing on preventing corruption, waste, and negativity early and from afar, especially promptly overcoming loopholes and inadequacies, perfecting institutions and laws; and enhancing publicity, transparency, and accountability in public service activities.

In particular, according to the Steering Committee, it is necessary to focus on monitoring hot issues of public concern, such as land management, resources, minerals, energy, public finance, public assets, food safety, key projects and works...

At the meeting, the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee agreed to put the case of "Abusing position and power while performing official duties" at the Central Highlands General Hospital under the supervision and direction of the Steering Committee.

In addition, the Steering Committee requested to urgently complete a comprehensive summary of the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity during the 13th Party Congress term; and summarize the investigation, prosecution, and trial of corruption, waste, and negativity cases.
