Cho Ray Hospital recently had a working session with the Ministry of Health's Appraisal Team to report on the progress and effectiveness of implementing the Prime Minister's policy on deploying electronic medical records.
During the working session, the Appraisal Team conducted a field survey at the Examination Department and a number of related departments and rooms. Thereby, the initial positive results of the electronic medical record implementation process at Cho Ray Hospital were recorded.
Dr. Pham Thanh Viet, Head of Management and Operations at Cho Ray Hospital, emphasized that the electronic medical record, after 2 months of implementation, is an important step in the unit's digital transformation journey.
Previously, the implementation encountered many obstacles due to high expectations. But this time, thanks to the experience inherited from previous units and the close direction of the Ministry of Health 's leaders - directly by Deputy Minister Nguyen Tri Thuc - the implementation has achieved positive results.

The most remarkable thing is not only the technical foundation, but also the consensus of the medical staff when working towards a common goal of "all for the patients".
Initial results show that electronic medical records have gradually become practical, used regularly even outside of office hours, forming new habits of medical staff at work.
According to Dr. Viet, although there are still many points that need to be improved to reach higher standards, current efforts open up the expectation that Cho Ray will become one of the typical hospitals in the field of electronic medical records, contributing to the foundation for the goal of "paperless" by 2026.
Dr. Duong Huy Luong, Deputy Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management (Ministry of Health), said that in order to implement the Prime Minister 's policy of completing the implementation of electronic medical records in September, all hospitals across the country have actively implemented it.
Previously, Cho Ray Hospital also tested the application of electronic medical records many times but encountered many difficulties and problems, so the plans could not be completed.

"We also know that the larger the hospital, the more difficulties and challenges it will face when implementing electronic medical records. However, up to now, under close coordination with ministries and branches, after 2 months of focus and determination, Cho Ray's electronic medical records system has been officially deployed.
Cho Ray Hospital's successful implementation of electronic medical records has contributed significantly to the development of the healthcare sector in general.
At the same time, this is also a proud achievement to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day," the leader of the Ministry of Health assessed.
Electronic medical records bring many specific values to patients, such as shortening waiting time thanks to online registration, synchronizing data to help doctors easily look up treatment history, reducing costs of printing records and films, and allowing data connection between medical facilities, limiting the need to re-test.
In addition, the system also enhances transparency in health insurance management and reduces complicated administrative procedures.
