Ha Hoa forest rangers increased patrols and forest protection in Hien Luong commune.
In recent years, the movement of afforestation and reforestation of bare hills has spread strongly to each locality and each household. With the advantage of over 500 thousand hectares of forestry land, of which over 400 thousand hectares are forested, the forest cover of the whole province reaches 43.6%, Phu Tho has implemented many programs and projects on planting production forests associated with protecting natural forests. People have gradually changed their awareness from exploiting forests to developing sustainable forestry. Many households, cooperatives and enterprises have become typical examples in planting, caring for and protecting forests. Notably, thanks to the application of technical advances, many areas of acacia, eucalyptus, lat hoa, cinnamon forests... not only bring high economic value but also help create many jobs and increase income for people in rural and mountainous areas.
Identifying forest management and protection (FMP) as a regular and continuous task, in recent times, Son Luong commune has proactively promoted propaganda, raising people's awareness in implementing legal regulations on management, FMP, and PCCCR; coordinating with local forest rangers to directly go to residential areas to propagate to people regulations on shifting cultivation, FMP, and PCCCR; coordinating with functional agencies to strengthen forest patrols and inspections, prevent deforestation and illegal logging, and maintain forest security. With the synchronous participation of the entire political system, over the past years, forest security in the commune has always been stable and maintained. Afforestation and forest economic development have always been of interest to the government and people and have been effectively implemented. Every year, the revenue from forestry is quite large, contributing to the increasingly developing economy of the commune.
Not only focusing on production forests, the province also strengthens the management and protection of special-use forests and protective forests. Forest rangers and local authorities regularly patrol and promptly prevent illegal exploitation and transportation of forest products. Forest protection contracting models for communities and households have been widely deployed, promoting people's responsibility in forest protection and providing a stable source of income.
In parallel, Phu Tho province also pays attention to developing the forest product processing industry. Wood processing facilities, paper, plywood and household furniture production facilities are increasingly expanding, creating a close chain from planting, exploitation to product consumption. Thanks to that, the economic value of forests is enhanced, creating motivation for people to stick with forestry for a long time.
Green forests not only bring material benefits but also play an important role in protecting water resources, limiting soil erosion, and maintaining biodiversity. Natural forests in Xuan Dai, Da Bac, Van Lang, Minh Hoa communes... also have great potential for developing eco-tourism and experiential tourism associated with nature conservation. Visitors to Phu Tho not only immerse themselves in the unique cultural space of the land of the ancestors but also enjoy the fresh air and admire the majestic, green beauty of the mountains and forests.
Forest protection and development in Phu Tho in recent years has achieved many positive results. However, to keep the forests green forever, it still requires the cooperation of the whole society, the determination from the government to the people. Each tree planted, each forest preserved today will be a precious gift for future generations.
