Consideration of recognition of traditional occupations and craft villages

On the morning of June 6, comrade Le Duc Giang, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Council for recognition of traditional occupations, craft villages, and traditional craft villages in the province chaired the conference on recognition of traditional occupations, craft villages, and traditional craft villages in the province in 2024.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Giang chaired the conference.

Attending the conference were representatives of leaders of member sectors of the Council, People's Committees of Nong Cong, Tho Xuan, Nga Son districts, Thanh Hoa city.

In 2024, the province proposed the Council to consider recognizing 7 traditional occupations, craft villages, and traditional craft villages. Including 1 traditional occupation, 2 craft villages, and 4 traditional craft villages of Nong Cong, Tho Xuan, Nga Son districts, and Thanh Hoa city.

Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development reported at the conference.

After delegates contributed their opinions, the Council voted to recognize traditional occupations, craft villages, and traditional craft villages in 2024.

The result was 100% of the votes in agreement to recognize the traditional craft of stone carving in Nhoi village, An Hung ward (Thanh Hoa city); the craft of producing dong vermicelli in Van Thanh village, Thang Long commune (Nong Cong); the craft of producing and trading ornamental plants in village 3, Nga Lien commune (Nga Son); the craft of making traditional conical hats in villages 1, 2, 5, 6, Tho Loc commune (Tho Xuan).

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Giang delivered a concluding speech at the conference.

Concluding the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Giang acknowledged and commended the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and localities for closely reviewing and evaluating, preparing dossiers to propose recognition of traditional occupations, craft villages and traditional craft villages in the area. He requested the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and craft villages and traditional craft villages to absorb opinions at the conference to supplement and complete dossiers according to regulations, submit to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and decision to recognize traditional occupations, craft villages and traditional craft villages in 2024.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to develop mechanisms and policies for the development of traditional occupations, craft villages, and traditional craft villages in the province. Along with that, localities need to have mechanisms to support traditional occupations, craft villages, and traditional craft villages to encourage the development of agricultural and rural industries.
