400 players compete at the 6th Dong Hoi Open Club Chess Cup Tournament

VHO - The 6th Dong Hoi Open Club Chess Cup is not only a meaningful summer sports playground but also an opportunity for players to compete, learn, improve their professional skills and accumulate practical competition experience.

The organizing committee awarded souvenir flags to the participating teams.

On July 26, in Dong Hoi ward (Quang Tri province), the Dong Hoi Open Chess Club Cup 2025 took place. The tournament, organized by Dong Hoi Chess Club, is a useful intellectual sports playground during the summer for school-age children.

This tournament gathered more than 400 players from 25 delegations representing clubs, wards, communes, primary schools, secondary schools, high schools in and outside the province. The players competed in 8 age groups (including U5, U6, U7, U8, U9, U10, U12 and Open) with 4 events for men, women, individual and team.

The tournament had more than 400 players competing in various events.

The players participating in this tournament were selected by clubs from the chess training movement that is developing strongly in many localities in the Central Highlands region.

With the goal of achieving the highest results, the tournament is not only a meaningful summer sports playground but also an opportunity for players to compete, learn, improve their professional skills and accumulate practical competition experience.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Le Thanh Minh, Chairman of Dong Hoi Chess Club, Head of the tournament organizing committee emphasized: The tournament not only contributes to promoting the sports movement in the community, but is also a useful intellectual playground for young people, helping to search and discover promising factors for chess in the province.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee awarded the chess players of Dong Hoi Chess Club for their impressive achievements in participating in national and regional tournaments.

At the same time, this is an opportunity for localities and units to evaluate the effectiveness of training and movement building at the grassroots level. The results of the tournament will be an important basis for localities to select teams to participate in the 7th Central Highlands - Central Region Chess Tournament in 2025, taking place in early August.

The 2025 Dong Hoi Open Club Chess Cup will take place on July 26 and 27. Immediately after the opening ceremony, the players began competing in the tournament's events.
