The percentage of students winning prizes each year is 66% of the number of students participating in the competition, ranking 2nd in the province, and 1st among non-specialized high schools in the province. |
The school also pays attention to extracurricular activities and creates favorable conditions for students. Teachers and students of the school are actively practicing to participate in two competitions: Thai Xoe Performance of Dien Bien Province in 2024 and the first Dien Bien Province Street Dance of Students. |
Competition dance: Spring dance with the participation of 180 students of the Ethnic Boarding School who have completed the practice to prepare for the competition. The students are very eager and excited to participate in the festival to have the opportunity to interact with friends of the same age from other localities in the province. |
In addition, the school's Board of Directors regularly pays attention to and selects students from each class to participate in competitions organized by the City Department of Education and Training as well as the Dien Bien City Youth Union, specifically the Dien Bien Echo; School Folk Dance Competition; and National Costume Performance in response to the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory. |
Along with that, extracurricular activities associated with topics and themes that are close and suitable to the psychology of ethnic minority students have helped them become more confident in life. Typical examples include: "Traffic safety" contest; "Drug discovery contest"; "Clean water and environmental sanitation"; "Propaganda for the dissemination of laws on preventing human trafficking and child abuse"; "Propaganda for basic knowledge on HIV/AIDS prevention"; "Contest to learn about the beauty of national cultural identity"... Thanks to that, the comprehensive awareness of students in the school has been raised. |
After school hours, sports activities right on campus are very popular with students, not only improving their health but also increasing solidarity among classmates as well as with students from other classes. |
Students in the same class will be arranged to eat, sleep and live together in one room with 8 friends. In their free time, each student chooses their own way to relax: some listen to music, some read books, some play instruments. |
For the students here, teachers are not only the ones who impart knowledge but also the spiritual support, guiding them in life skills and daily routines from eating, drinking, sleeping, resting... |
In addition to class time, teachers also take the opportunity to learn ethnic minority languages to get closer to and impart knowledge to students more easily. They practice playing musical instruments, play soccer, volleyball, badminton, etc. with students, accompanying them in their daily lives, even during breaks after school. |
Because they live together at school, students only visit home during long holidays and summer vacations. Therefore, all contact with their families is through daily phone calls or unscheduled visits from their families. |
