Caught red-handed possessing 7 packages of heroin in Sa Pa town

On May 12, the Investigation Police Department (Sa Pa Town Police) caught Tran Van Liem (born in 1971) red-handed for illegally possessing 7 packages of heroin. Liem has many previous convictions for organizing and illegally using drugs.

Accordingly, at around 1:00 p.m. on May 12, while performing a task on Thach Son Street (Sa Pa Town), the Working Group of the General Investigation Team coordinated with the Traffic Police - Order Team (Sa Pa Town Police) to discover a taxi with license plate 24E-000XX that was suspicious. The authorities requested to stop the vehicle and check it. Through the inspection, they discovered and caught Tran Van Liem, born in 1971, with permanent residence in Thanh Xuan Bac Ward, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi City (current residence is Group 1, Lao Cai Ward, Lao Cai City) carrying 7 packages of heroin with a total weight of 29.23g. The authorities made a record and brought the subject to the headquarters for investigation and clarification.

At the police station, Liem confessed: Because he had been addicted to drugs for many years, he hired a taxi from Lao Cai city to Sa Pa town to buy drugs from a man (identity unknown) for use. However, while on the way to Lao Cai city, he was checked and arrested by the police.

The Investigation Police Agency (Sa Pa Town Police) is continuing to consolidate the case file and fight to clarify the subject's behavior to handle it according to the provisions of the law.
