Vietnam women's volleyball team eliminated, 14 teams determined to advance

(Dan Tri) - After the second round of matches, the 14 teams that have qualified for the round of 16 of the women's volleyball world championship have been determined. Meanwhile, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team was eliminated after losing to Germany.

In yesterday's match, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team failed to create a surprise against Germany when they lost 0-3. This result caused Coach Tuan Kiet and his team to be eliminated from the tournament right from the group stage.

The Vietnamese women’s volleyball team lost both matches in Group G against Poland and Germany. Meanwhile, these two volleyball teams secured their tickets to the next round after both winning against the Vietnamese and Kenyan women’s volleyball teams.

The confrontation between Poland and Germany in the final match will determine the top position in Group G. This is an important position as it helps them avoid the strongest team in the world at the moment, Italy.

Despite being eliminated, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team still has a reason to fight with all their might against Kenya. We are aiming for victory in our first participation in the women's volleyball world championship. In the friendly match before the tournament, Coach Tuan Kiet and his team won 4-0 against Kenya.

Along with Poland and Germany, the other 12 teams that have qualified for the round of 16 after the second round of matches have been determined.

In Group A, Thailand and the Netherlands had no trouble qualifying. They both won their matches against Egypt and Sweden.

The situation is similar in Group B, the two teams Italy and Belgium proved to be superior to the two remaining opponents of the group, Slovakia and Cuba, when they both won both matches with the same score of 3-0.

Coming to Group C, Brazil has secured a ticket to the round of 16 after two victories against France and Greece. The remaining ticket will be determined in the direct confrontation between France and Greece in the final match.

Group D has a similar scenario. The US won two 3-1 victories against Slovenia and Argentina to qualify. Three teams Argentina, Czech Republic and Slovenia will compete for the remaining ticket.

Coming to Group E, the two teams Türkiye and Canada have registered their names in the round of 16 after two victories against Spain and Bulgaria.

Group F also saw Dominican Republic and China advance to the round of 16 after defeating Mexico and Colombia respectively. Finally, in Group H, defending champions Serbia and Japan also advanced after overcoming Cameroon and Ukraine.

Thus, 14/16 tickets to the round of 16 of the women's volleyball world championship have been determined. The remaining two tickets are determined through the competitions in Group C and Group D. Both groups will compete in the decisive matches this afternoon and evening (August 26).
