The Government issued a new decree on tuition fees.

The Government issued Decree 97/2023/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree 81/2021/ND-CP dated August 27, 2021 on the mechanism for collecting and managing tuition fees and policies on tuition exemption and reduction to support learning costs.

Accordingly, Decree No. 97 decided to keep tuition fees stable from the 2023-2024 school year for preschool and general education at the same level as the 2021-2022 school year.

The Government also decided to postpone the tuition fee schedule for public universities and vocational education by 1 year compared to the regulations in Decree 81. That is, the tuition fee for the 2023-2024 school year will increase compared to the tuition fee for the 2022-2023 school year, but the increase will be lower than the schedule prescribed in Decree 81.

This is to suit practical conditions and reduce difficulties for students.

Tuition exemption and reduction policies stipulated in Decree 81 continue to be maintained to support policy beneficiaries and those with difficult circumstances.

For educational institutions that have not yet covered their regular expenses: keep tuition fees stable from the 2023-2024 school year at the same level as the 2021-2022 school year tuition fees issued by the Provincial People's Council for local application.

For educational institutions that self-finance regular expenses, educational institutions that self-finance regular expenses and only invest: Educational institutions establish tuition fees based on economic -technical norms and cost norms, and submit them to the People's Committee to propose the Provincial People's Council to consider and approve.
