The 2025-2026 National First Division has had a big change after Hoa Binh Club suddenly withdrew just 2 days after working with the People's Committee of Phu Tho province. That made everyone stunned.
While everyone still didn't understand what was happening, Gia Dinh Club suddenly asked to "transfer household registration" to Phu Tho to replace the position that Hoa Binh Club had just released a few hours before.
Accordingly, Kenos Joint Stock Company - the management unit of Gia Dinh Club - sent a dispatch to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) regarding the change of name, shares and change of board members. Accordingly, the team will return to Phu Tho to compete under the name "Xuan Thien Phu Tho" managed by Xuan Thien Phu Tho Joint Stock Company (XTPT).
Gia Dinh Club will also change its yellow logo to blue. This logo is very similar to the logo of Nam Dinh Steel Club - the team currently sponsored by Xuan Thien Group in V-League.
On the evening of September 8, all members of Gia Dinh Club moved to Viet Tri (Phu Tho) to prepare for the handover.
More notably, Mr. Tran Tien Dai - who holds 50% of Gia Dinh Club's shares and is also Chairman of the Board of Directors - also resigned from all positions to give way to Mr. Vu Van Nga, who holds 90% of XTPT Company's shares.
Mr. Dai is known as the former technical director who helped Hanoi Police Club win the 2023 V-League championship and lead the team in the 2023-2024 season. Mr. Dai was born in 1966 and used to play for Ho Chi Minh City Police Club.

In addition, Mr. Dai also brokers players and operates football teams from professional to non-professional. He used to be the executive director of Ninh Binh Club, Saigon Xuan Thanh and chairman of Saigon FC.
Regarding professional personnel, Gia Dinh Club will "hand over" all players and coaching staff to XTPT to prepare for the new season. VFF and VPF will re-organize the first division draw tomorrow, September 11.
With Gia Dinh Club suddenly changing its household registration, VFF will likely review the Vietnam Professional Football Regulations and the exception licensing regulations.
The first division will have 12 teams participating in the 2025-2026 season. This year, teams will have one foreign player slot.
