A nearly 2km long road in Ho Chi Minh City is about to be completed after 23 years of expansion.

The project to upgrade and expand Ta Quang Buu Street (District 8, Ho Chi Minh City) is about to reach its completion after 23 years of construction. This is the desire of the people after more than two decades of waiting for a decent road to travel.

After a period of "freezing", the project to upgrade and expand Ta Quang Buu Street (District 8, Ho Chi Minh City) has just been resumed in April 2023. The entire project to expand Ta Quang Buu Street is nearly 2km long (connecting Pham Hung Street to Au Duong Lan Street). This project was first started in 2001. However, by 2005, only 1.2km had been completed and was temporarily stopped due to land clearance problems. In 2022, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee decided to adjust the project with a total investment of 330 billion VND.

After a year of reconstruction, this 687m long road has now been paved cleanly, completely different from the previous narrow, muddy, potholed road. When completed, Ta Quang Buu Street (from Pham Hung to Vo Liem Son) will have a minimum width of 4 lanes.

According to Dan Tri reporters, dozens of workers are busy constructing the final stages to complete the project on time, contributing to urban beautification and improving people's quality of life.

In recent days, units have been urgently relocating and re-establishing telecommunication, electricity, water, lighting... cable systems on the road.

The sidewalk system on both sides of the road is also being completed by workers.

The project has now reached more than 85% of its volume. The entire project to upgrade and expand Ta Quang Buu Street is expected to be completed by April 30.

This is a road with many schools and markets, so during rush hour, this road often has to bear a large amount of traffic.

In recent days, many households living on Ta Quang Buu Street have been busy repairing and completing their houses to "change their clothes" along with the street.

Mr. Le Hoang Hung (63 years old) expressed his emotion when he heard that this road will be completed on April 30.

"After so many years, this road is finally about to be completed. I've been waiting for so long. From now on, people will have less trouble traveling here during the rainy season," said Mr. Hung.

Ta Quang Buu Street is one of the main roads in District 8, connecting with Pham The Hien Street, National Highway 50, Pham Hung Street, Duong Ba Trac Street... When the expansion is completed, the road will contribute to reducing traffic pressure in the area.
