Workers work in the sun through Tet at a traffic intersection project worth over VND3,400 billion

TPO - During the Lunar New Year holidays, workers at the construction site of the An Phu traffic intersection project (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) are still busy with work to speed up progress and ensure the project is completed on schedule.

The An Phu traffic intersection construction project with a total investment of VND3,408 billion was started at the end of 2022 and is expected to be completed on April 30, 2025.

The project is designed with 3 floors with a two-way tunnel connecting Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway with Mai Chi Tho Street (Thu Thiem tunnel side), extending through Mai Chi Tho - Dong Van Cong intersection. According to the reporter's records, during the 2024 Lunar New Year holidays, the construction site of the An Phu intersection always maintains a workforce of workers.

At the XL-05 package area (construction of the HC1-01 underpass) of the An Phu intersection project, workers are working busily under the hot weather.

A representative of Hoang Huy Toan Company Limited (a unit of the joint contractors of the XL-05 package) said that the unit has currently constructed the tunnel body and tunnel walls of 4/7 open tunnel segments. The value of the work volume under the responsibility of the company has reached about 74% progress. The work part under the responsibility of the company is expected to be completed in mid-2024.

Under the continuous hot weather, construction workers of the An Phu intersection project still worked tirelessly throughout Tet to complete the project on schedule.

Mr. Lam Quoc Su (from Bac Lieu , manager of workers of a subcontractor) said that during the Tet holiday, about 30 workers asked to stay and work through Tet, but due to the nature of the work, only about 15 people were kept. "Those who stay to work are all paid extra according to regulations, in addition to many other benefits, so everyone can work with peace of mind," Mr. Su shared.

A representative of the HCM City Traffic Construction Investment Management Board (Traffic Board, investor) said that the An Phu traffic intersection project is currently implementing 4 main packages: Ba Dat bridge, Giong Ong To bridge and 2 underpasses on Mai Chi Tho street.

After the Lunar New Year holiday, contractors will carry out construction of four overpass construction packages at the intersection of Mai Chi Tho with Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway and the intersection of Mai Chi Tho with Dong Van Cong Street.

A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport said that during the 2024 Lunar New Year holiday, 5 key projects in Ho Chi Minh City including: construction of Ring Road 3, An Phu intersection, upgrading and expanding National Highway 50, Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Huu Tho intersection tunnel, and Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road will continue construction throughout Tet to ensure completion on schedule .
