According to the relic records, this scenic spot has a total protected area of up to 26,000 m2 , of which the main gate has an area of more than 420 m2 . To Vo Gate scenic spot converges all historical, cultural, scientific, aesthetic, service - tourism, and economic values.
To Vo Stone Gate is located in the west of Big Island, Ly Son special zone ( Quang Ngai province) and is known as a masterpiece of nature, with the harmonious beauty of stone, sea and sky.
Called a "gate" but in fact this is a natural stone bridge, nearly 8 m long, the height depends on the tide level, but is usually about 5 - 6 m (compared to the bridge deck above), 2.5 m - 3.5 m (compared to the bridge deck below) when the tide is low.

From field observations and based on stratigraphic comparisons, geologists say that more than a million years ago (in the Pleistocene), the Gieng Tien volcano had a very strong eruption, called an explosive eruption. The lava flow escaping through the crater covered older sediments (in the late Miocene period), about 5.5 - 6 million years ago. This volcanic eruption is the main cause of the spectacular landscape around the Gieng Tien mountain area and the west of the Big Island. At the To Vo Gate sea area, the lava flow entered the moving seawater mass, was condensed by the water flow, followed by landslides and erosion of the weakly structured parts of the lava mass, forming the natural stone bridge type we see today.
To Vo Gate is beautiful and famous for its unique shape, standing tall in the middle of an open natural landscape. Each block of stone is solid and angular, but when connected together, it forms a stone gate with a soft, graceful rhythm and can show off its beauty from every angle of space, as well as at any time of the day, even on moonlit nights or when the sky is filled with stars.

Early in the morning, the sun slowly rose, the first rays of the day like the hand of the goddess Dawn spread out towards the sky, playing with the seagulls gliding in the sky. At noon, the shadow of the ball was reflected in the water; the waves wavered; suddenly disappeared, suddenly appeared; as if there, as if not. When the sunset fell, from the rocky beach, looking through the archway, one could see the fishing boats of fishermen slowly returning to the dock to rest for the night in the murmur of the waves and wind offshore.
But the interesting thing is when climbing to the top of the stone gate of heaven, looking to the east is the fishing village like a landscape painting with undulating waves, leaning to the north is the cliff of Tien Gieng with the precarious Duc pagoda. In the distance is Be island, with coconut trees looming, a Dun island appears as if to remind that there is Bo Bai islet, An Binh islet as beautiful as a poem. Further away, pointing straight to the west, is the mainland, the homeland of the clans that opened the island, with Tong Binh cape reminding people of the folk song that haunts their hearts:

Eastern people believe that all existence in this world has a symmetrical existence. There is day, there is night. There is the Evening Star, so there is the Morning Star. There is light floating on the mountain top, there is also darkness flickering at the foot of the bridge. But with Ly Son and To Vo Gate, that symmetrical existence is surprising.
