Dalat is the "hottest" during Tet tourist season

Booking application has just announced the list of 10 most favorite destinations for domestic tourists during Lunar New Year. This list is based on searches and bookings from February 8 to 14, equivalent to December 29 to the 5th day of Tet.

Dalat is the destination with the most bookings among the destinations in Vietnam. The city is the capital of Lam Dong province, located on the Lam Vien plateau at an altitude of 1,500 m above sea level. About 300 km from Ho Chi Minh City and with a cool climate all year round, Dalat is an ideal resort, helping visitors escape the heat of the Southern region.

The next destinations include Nha Trang, Da Nang, Vung Tau, Phu Quoc, Ho Chi Minh City, Mui Ne, Hanoi , Sa Pa, Hoi An.

Tet is an opportunity for Vietnamese tourists to temporarily leave the hustle and bustle behind and immerse themselves in the peaceful beauty of the sea. According to Booking's 2024 Travel Trend Forecast in early January, tourists tend to look for cooler weather to avoid the heat. 82% of respondents said they are interested in water-based vacations this year. This demand is reflected in the top 10 domestic destinations most searched by Vietnamese tourists, with 6 coastal locations including Nha Trang, Da Nang, Vung Tau, Phu Quoc, Mui Ne and Hoi An.

Besides the beaches, Vietnamese tourists also visit bustling cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi - famous for street vendors selling traditional Tet dishes, Hoi An ancient town decorated with thousands of lanterns or Sapa mountain area with majestic terraced fields.
