On August 15, Nong Son Commune Police (Da Nang City) announced that they had coordinated with Agribank Nong Son Branch to successfully prevent an online fraud case.
On the morning of August 12, at the Agribank Nong Son Branch, a customer came to request a transfer of 20 million VND.
Noticing many unusual signs, the transaction officer warned and persuaded the customer to temporarily stop the transaction and immediately notified the Nong Son Commune Police.
Nong Son Commune Police promptly prevented the fraud while the victim was transferring money at the bank.
Upon receiving the report, the police quickly arrived to verify. The victim said she had joined a "Matchmaking Club" on Facebook and was asked to transfer 5 million VND to be approved to join.
The subject then made an excuse that he had done something wrong and repeatedly asked for more money to complete the procedures. Believing him, the victim transferred money many times, totaling up to 80 million VND.
While preparing to transfer another 20 million VND, the victim was fortunately discovered by a bank employee and reported to the police, promptly preventing damage.
