Da Nang was forced to destroy nearly 3.5 tons of organs of unknown origin, recently discovered at a facility processing animal products, by-products, and fat.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City has just signed a decision to administratively sanction business household Nguyen Thi Hong (Hoa Khanh Nam ward, Lien Chieu district, Da Nang).

Previously, on May 13, the Economic Police Department of Da Nang City Police presided over and coordinated with the City Food Safety Management Board, Lien Chieu District Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Da Nang Drainage and Wastewater Treatment Company,... to inspect the facility for processing products, by-products, and animal fat belonging to the business household Nguyen Thi Hong.

Through inspection, the authorities determined that the facility traded in goods of unknown origin; did not have on-site exhaust gas treatment facilities or equipment that met environmental protection requirements; and discharged wastewater 10 times or more in excess of technical standards on waste.

For the above violations, the People's Committee of Da Nang City decided to fine business household Nguyen Thi Hong a total of more than 126 million VND.

At the same time, all evidence of violations, including 3,490 kg, must be destroyed and measures must be taken to remedy environmental pollution according to regulations.
