Ensuring energy security for the period of double-digit economic growth

Energy is considered the "infrastructure of infrastructure", because it not only has to be one step ahead to pave the way but also plays a role in maintaining the operation of the entire economy and social life.

In the 2025-2030 period, Dong Nai province aims to maintain a double-digit economic growth rate. Therefore, continuing to invest in synchronous infrastructure and applying modern technology to ensure energy for rapid and sustainable development is a requirement of the province, and also a key goal of the electricity industry.

Ensuring power supply for development

Dong Nai is currently one of the major industrial and service centers of the Southern Key Economic Zone, and is also among the localities with the highest electricity consumption in the country. Contributing significantly to this result is the great effort of the electricity sector in implementing a series of works and projects to ensure a stable and safe electricity supply for production and life.

According to Dong Nai Electricity Company (PC Dong Nai), the province currently has a system of transformer stations and 500kV, 220kV, and 110kV power lines that are synchronously invested and closely connected to the national transmission grid. The infrastructure managed by PC Dong Nai includes more than 12,000 km of medium-voltage grid, nearly 12,000 km of low-voltage lines, and more than 31,000 medium-voltage transformer stations. For the 110kV power grid, the unit is managing 45 transformer stations with a capacity of over 4,500 MVA and 85 power lines with a total length of more than 1,000 km.

Thanks to this infrastructure, the national power system operates safely and stably; the demand for electricity supply to serve socio-economic development in the province is met promptly. Annual electricity consumption remains high, estimated to reach over 20 billion kWh in 2025 alone; the rate of households with electricity reaches 99.7%.

Not only expanding infrastructure, PC Dong Nai also focuses on improving the quality of electricity supply. In recent years, the number and duration of power outages have decreased significantly. The unit has put into operation the Control Center and unmanned transformer stations, SCADA systems and smart grids. These solutions help minimize incidents, increase reliability and transparency in service provision. In addition, requests for electricity purchase and sale, customer service are resolved on time, improving the satisfaction of people and businesses.

General Director of Long Duc Investment Co., Ltd. (investor of Long Duc Industrial Park, Binh An Commune) Ishii Hiroyuki said: Dong Nai is an attractive destination thanks to its favorable geographical location, the government accompanying businesses and relatively synchronous infrastructure. Particularly in terms of electricity infrastructure, the industrial park is always fully supplied and of good quality. Thanks to that, the industrial park has a high occupancy rate, secondary investors have achieved many successes, creating jobs and stable income for thousands of workers.

Developing a synchronous power grid according to planning

The document of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030, determined that Dong Nai strives to maintain an average GRDP growth rate of 10%/year or more; by 2030, it will basically meet the criteria of a centrally-run city. This means that electricity demand will continue to increase sharply.

According to the Power Plan VIII and the Provincial Development Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, in the coming time, PC Dong Nai will implement many power source and grid projects with a total expected investment capital of more than 5.1 trillion VND.

Notably, projects to build and upgrade 220kV power lines and transformer stations are being implemented to increase transmission capacity and ensure power supply to high-demand areas. In addition, many new 110kV projects have been invested in to reduce system load. The electricity sector is also focusing on developing a synchronous power grid associated with the planning of urban areas, industrial parks, airports, and seaports to create a foundation for economic breakthroughs. Notably, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) is building the 500kV Dong Nai 2 station in Xuan Loc commune, Dong Nai province.

With high determination and clear plan, Dong Nai Electricity Company will continue to affirm its role as the "fire keeper" for growth, a reliable support for businesses and people, contributing to building Dong Nai province to develop green, strong, civilized, modern to aim for the goal of basically achieving the criteria of a centrally-run city by 2030.

The biggest goal of Dong Nai electricity industry in this period is to ensure adequate electricity supply for socio-economic development, with increasingly better quality; complete assigned projects on schedule, especially key projects; at the same time, promote corporate governance, develop human resources and apply modern technology in production and business.

Along with infrastructure investment, the electricity industry also promotes comprehensive digital transformation in all areas, from internal management, smart grid operation, business - customer service, to training and human resource development, to improve operational efficiency and service quality.

An important highlight in the development strategy of PC Dong Nai is to ensure that all people, whether in urban, rural or border areas, or ethnic minorities, have access to a stable, high-quality power source. In the coming time, the electricity industry will continue to invest in upgrading the power grid in remote areas with a budget of more than 1 trillion VND, contributing to narrowing the gap between urban and rural areas, promoting social equality.

Accompanying the development of the province

The achievements of the province in recent times have played a pioneering role of Dong Nai electricity industry in ensuring energy security. However, the road ahead still has many challenges when the demand for load increases rapidly, the requirements for electricity quality are increasingly high, the investment pressure is large, along with the orientation of green, clean and sustainable development.

Grasping that requirement, PC Dong Nai has built a production, business and investment plan for the period 2026-2030, focusing on: safe and stable operation of the power system; modernizing the power grid; improving customer service quality; continuing to promote the application of digital technology in all activities.

Director of Dong Nai Electricity Company Truong Dinh Quoc affirmed: "The electricity industry will continue to accompany the government and people, mobilizing maximum resources to ensure safe, stable, and quality electricity supply, serving the goal of rapid and sustainable development."

The 1st Congress of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030, opens a new development phase with the aspiration to build Dong Nai into a modern and civilized industrial - service - logistics center. In this journey, energy plays a fundamental role, a driving force to promote all areas of development.
