Dinh Bac: New shirt number, aspiration to grow up with CAHN Club and U.23 Vietnam

On the evening of August 9, Dinh Bac was not in the starting lineup of CAHN Club for the 2024-2025 National Super Cup match against Nam Dinh Club at Thien Truong Stadium. He entered the field from the 62nd minute, replacing his senior Van Duc when the score was 1-1.

That was the moment Dinh Bac officially welcomed the new season with a new shirt number on his back in the CAHN club shirt. The boy born in 2004 said goodbye to the number 16 shirt of last season, to wear the number 9 which is usually reserved for strikers.

This marks Dinh Bac's clearer position in the police team's attack, which currently has many stars such as Van Duc, Leo Artur, Alan, Quang Hai, Van Do...

Sitting on the bench in the National Super Cup match shows that Dinh Bac will still have to try much harder to compete for a starting position, and for now, he will still have to be ranked below his compatriot Van Duc in the left-sided striker position, while Leo Artur and Alan are so good that they are almost untouchable.

However, the good news is that Dinh Bac is making a strong comeback, gradually forgetting the injuries that caused him to only have 15 matches with only 9 starts for CAHN Club in V-League last season.

The goal in the 2024 - 2025 National Super Cup match, with a shot from outside the penalty area, partly showed the image of a confident and decisive Dinh Bac that helped him soon be valued by Coach Troussier in the Vietnam national team, starting at the 2023 Asian Cup.

Dinh Bac is on his way to regaining his best feeling. Before that, he joined the U.23 Vietnam team in a state of less than 100% physical strength, lacking ball feel after a broken bone in his little toe, and had to stay off the field for many months.

Coach Kim Sang-sik's belief helped the player from Nghe An calm down and persistently improve his physical condition according to the doctor's and fitness coach's training plan. He gradually put aside his impatience and anxiety, and from there gradually regained his physical strength and sharpness.

At the U.23 Southeast Asia tournament, Dinh Bac even got hurt after the first match against U.23 Laos, only coming on the field in the second match. But that was also when he made his mark with the goal that sealed the 2-1 victory against U.23 Cambodia.

In the semi-finals, Dinh Bac continued to score with the opening goal against the U.23 Philippines team, helping him close the U.23 Southeast Asian tournament with the most goals scored by the U.23 Vietnam team (along with Hieu Minh with 2 goals), and was awarded the title of Best Player of the tournament by the Organizing Committee.

His consistent scoring form for the Vietnam U.23 team and most recently for the CAHN club shows that Dinh Bac is gradually regaining his form and sharpness. What he needs now is to maintain maximum concentration to continue to push himself to be better.

Dinh Bac has a busy year ahead, when CAHN Club competes on many fronts: V-League, National Cup, Southeast Asian Club Championship, AFC Champions League 2, while the Vietnam U.23 team plays the U.23 Asian qualifiers and SEA Games 33 in Thailand in December, along with the U.23 Asian tournament, ASIAD in 2026.

Hopefully, the young man from Yen Trung commune, Nghe An province will maintain good physical condition, keep the current fire of desire to contribute more effectively, stabilize his performance and affirm his position at CAHN Club as well as the Vietnam U.23 team.
