Nearly 8,000 billion VND to expand Chu Lai Truong Hai Automobile Mechanical Industrial Park

DNVN - On August 28, in Nui Thanh commune (Da Nang city), THACO held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Chu Lai Truong Hai Automobile Mechanical Industrial Park (IP) expansion, marking a new step in the group's strategy to develop the mechanical engineering and supporting industries.

THACO Deputy General Director Nguyen Hoang Tue said that the investment in building the expanded Chu Lai Truong Hai Automobile Mechanical Industrial Park aims to grasp the trends and opportunities from the shift in the global supply chain. At the same time, THACO's strategy is to expand its scale, develop the mechanical engineering and supporting industries, focus on in-depth production, and master the technology.

The industrial park is planned on an area of ​​115 hectares with a total investment of nearly VND 8,000 billion (of which VND 1,433 billion is for infrastructure construction); invested in a new generation industrial park model, green development, automation, smart, modern, integrating digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI).

Key investment items include factories producing new generation spare parts and components: manufacturing electronic circuit boards, components, smart electrical and electronic equipment; central control systems, sensor and monitoring systems; specialized communication and electronic equipment for automation equipment.

Factories manufacturing and assembling electromechanical and automation equipment: robots; AGV and AMR self-propelled equipment; 3D printing equipment, new generation CNC equipment, light civil aircraft, drones, fast charging stations for electric vehicles, control equipment for high-speed trains, urban trains and many other industrial and civil equipment.

This is an expanded automotive mechanical center that plays a role in connecting mechanical products and spare parts from existing factories, creating products, automation equipment, smart controls and high-tech products. All activities at the center follow a closed process from product design, material research - processing, manufacturing, assembly - quality control to packaging, transportation, meeting international standards and specific requirements of customers.

The expanded Chu Lai Truong Hai Automobile Mechanical Industrial Park is being developed on a planned area of ​​115 hectares with a total investment of nearly VND8,000 billion.

In particular, research and development (R&D) activities are identified as a new growth driver. In addition, THACO will continue to develop a highly qualified and specialized workforce, invite domestic and foreign experts, improve innovation capacity; create breakthrough products in technology, meet market trends and needs, and participate deeply in the global supply chain.

This industrial park will produce high-tech products and use some output products of the Da Nang High-Tech Park, creating an integrated and complementary ecosystem. Thereby, contributing to making Da Nang one of the high-tech and supporting industry centers of the country according to the city's development plan for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Phan Thai Binh requested departments, branches and local authorities to continue to accompany and remove procedures on investment, land, construction, environment, fire prevention and fighting, especially site clearance to create the most favorable conditions for investors to implement the project according to the set plan.
