Gia Lai introduces delicious dishes from "basalt land and sea"

VHO - Performances, processing of ocean tuna, delicious dishes from "basalt land, blue sea", coffee culture, gongs... have been introduced by Gia Lai province to the people and tourists.

Chefs from Ho Chi Minh City performed the act of cutting and filleting a 53kg tuna right in front of hundreds of spectators.

On the afternoon of August 29, the Food Festival “Delicious Dishes from Basalt Land and Sea”, displaying OCOP products, craft villages and the Coffee and Gong Culture Festival of Gia Lai province took place at the Children's Park - An Duong Vuong Street.

At the main stage at Children's Park, Quy Nhon Nam ward, chefs from Ho Chi Minh City performed the act of cutting and filleting a 53kg tuna right in front of hundreds of spectators.

From this source of fresh ingredients, domestic chefs and experts from Japan, Thailand and Australia have created a series of unique dishes, combining Asian - European - Vietnamese flavors.

New dishes such as tuna sticky rice, tuna pancakes, tuna macadamia porridge, European grilled tuna or Thai spicy curry have brought interesting experiences to diners.

On the first day, thousands of visitors enjoyed dishes made from tuna; it is expected that about 5,000 free meals will be served during the 3-day festival, bringing the opportunity to fully experience the taste of the ocean in the middle of the Central Highlands.

Special tuna pancake

Ms. Huynh Thi Xuan, a tourist attending the festival, happily said: “I find it very strange, I have never eaten like this before. Until now, I only thought of tuna for soup or stew, now I can make pancakes and porridge. Visiting the festival this time, I learned a lot.”

Along with the tuna culinary space, the festival is also bustling with activities such as "Delicious dishes from land and sea", Gia Lai Gong Culture Festival, OCOP product and craft village exhibition, along with music, comedy, circus shows... creating a colorful convergence picture of Quy Nhon sea.
