Gold price today June 23: World price soars, domestic price remains unchanged

Domestic gold prices remained stable despite strong fluctuations in world precious metals. SJC gold bars were 13.4 million VND/tael more expensive than world prices.

Saigon Jewelry Company - SJC kept the price of gold bars unchanged at 117.7 million VND/tael for buying and 119.7 million VND for selling. Mi Hong Company increased the buying price by 300,000 VND, to 119 million VND, selling at 119.7 million VND... Meanwhile, the price of gold rings decreased quite slowly, Phu Quy Company decreased by 100,000 VND per tael, buying at 113.6 million VND, selling at 116.6 million VND; SJC Company bought at 113.7 million VND, selling at 116.3 million VND... The price of gold rings was 10 million VND/tael more expensive than the world price, while SJC gold bars were 13.4 million VND higher than the world price. The domestic gold price remained almost unchanged despite the sharp increase and decrease of precious metals on the world market.

The world gold price on the morning of June 23 skyrocketed from 3,367 USD per ounce to 3,380 USD and then quickly turned down to 3,353 USD due to tensions between Iran and Israel. US forces attacked three nuclear sites in Iran. Although gold suddenly turned down, Mr. Fawad Razaqzada, market analyst at City Index and FOREX.com, advised that now is not the time to short sell.
