(NLDO) - To meet the demand for high-quality human resources for the city and the whole country, Ho Chi Minh City's general education must constantly innovate, develop strongly, and integrate with the world's advanced education.

That is the direction of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee at the Smart Education Conference held on the morning of December 20 in Ho Chi Minh City. Here, educational organizations will contribute ideas and advise city leaders to build projects, programs, and solutions to develop smart education and train human resources for the city's education system.

Mr. Le Thanh Liem, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, said that the city's leaders are aware and determined to build a smart city, in which education is of particular importance. Determining that it must go first, be the foundation, and be the driving force of the process of building the city into a smart city. To achieve the above goal, with a tradition of dynamism, creativity, and active innovation in recent times, the city's education and training sector has proactively deployed many solutions, enhancing the application of IT and communication in management and teaching - learning activities, testing - assessment.

The workshop attracted many domestic and foreign educational software development businesses.

The city's general education has nearly 1,500 schools with more than 1 million students, but is one of the first units to build and publish the overall architecture of IT and communication applications of the industry soonest. Building a high-speed fiber optic cable system, a shared database system for the entire industry. That is the initial, necessary and important foundation for synchronous and effective organization of the next technical solutions. In addition, general education institutions and university training institutions in the city have also proactively coordinated to deploy many pilot models of smart training and have achieved certain results. This is the basis for evaluating and perfecting the models of solutions that are tense and sustainable for the city.

Schools now have enough computers, many schools are also equipped with modern teaching equipment, "Advanced, modern library" (at Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted)... All are important premises for applying IT and communication in management, supporting teaching - learning, testing - assessment activities at schools.

Over the years, the city has always spent more than 25% of its budget on regular expenditures and investments in building new schools, repairing, renovating, upgrading schools, and especially purchasing modern teaching and learning equipment.
