Hanoi has another large-scale public hospital coming into operation soon.

The University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital - Linh Dam campus of Hanoi National University is preparing to put into use the new facility, which has completed phase 1 of construction, with a scale of 500 beds, next October.

This is the newest public hospital in Hanoi , located in the densely populated area of ​​Linh Dam. The immediate goal is to develop it into a university hospital with 500 beds and a grade I general hospital. After 2030, it will become a special grade hospital when the overall development project phase 2 is completed.

The Hanoi Department of Planning and Architecture has also just announced a partial adjustment of the planning in this hospital area. According to the new planning, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital - Linh Dam campus will be increased in scale from 500 to 1,200 beds, the construction floor area will increase nearly 2 times compared to the present, with 3 basements and a maximum of 17 floors.

The hospital is designed to be multifunctional, including treatment, training, research, and high-tech application, meeting national and international standards.

Professor Le Ngoc Thanh, principal of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, said the project aims to build a model university hospital, comprehensively applying high technology, digital management and personalized medicine.

Phase 1 is expected to be put into operation at the end of October 2025, creating the premise for synchronous and modern development in the medical and pharmaceutical field of the school's hospital system.

With a system of university medical facilities gradually taking shape in Linh Dam, Nguyen Quy Duc, Luong The Vinh, Hoa Lac, etc., Professor Thanh said that the school aims to build an advanced medical - education - research ecosystem, contributing to improving the quality of training, serving the community and promoting digital transformation in healthcare.
