Rhododendron, the flower known as the "queen of the Northwest mountains and forests", is blooming all over Lao Cai . One of the places to see the flowers in large numbers, beautifully and at the closest distance is the rhododendron flower viewing path (photo) located at Kim Son Bao Thang Tu, part of the spiritual and cultural architectural complex on the top of Fansipan, inaugurated in May 2023.
Fansipan is 3,143 m high in the Hoang Lien Son mountain range, the highest mountain in the three countries of Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia. The local people call Fansipan "Hua Xi Pan" or "giant precarious rock".
On the Hoang Lien Son range and in Sa Pa there are about 40 rare species of rhododendrons, blooming in batches depending on the flower color and the altitude of the mountain between February and June.
Rhododendron is a symbol of vitality and majestic beauty in the middle of the forest. Although it blooms almost all year round, the most beautiful and blooming time is April, early summer. The brilliant yellow and pink colors of the flowers stand out among the green of the Northwest mountains and forests. Thousands of tourists have come to the road to see the flowers near the top. The road is about 60 m long, built following the shape of the trees, ensuring the area with rare rhododendron roots remains intact. Around the road is also where many of the most beautiful ancient rhododendron trees in Sa Pa grow, a destination that helps visitors check in with rhododendron flowers at the closest distance.
According to locals, azaleas will bloom gradually until the end of May, so this flower-viewing road is one of the destinations attracting tourists who like to "live virtual" on the occasion of April 30.

Coming to Sa Pa at the end of April, visitors can also admire a paradise of flowers of all kinds with rose gardens (photo), brilliant cherry blossoms or thousands of white rum flowers.
Fansipan is about 9 km from Sa Pa. From Hanoi , visitors can travel by car or bus to Lao Cai (more than 330 km) first, then travel another 40 km to Sa Pa. Visitors can choose to hike from Hoang Lien National Park or take the cable car from the cable car station to the top.
At the end of April, Sa Pa also has the 2024 Rose Festival with the theme "Millions of Roses of Love" and watch Northwest art performances, flower car parades, reenactments of weddings of Mong, Dao, Tay, Giay, Xa Pho ethnic minorities, and display of ethnic wedding dresses.
Sa Pa National Tourist Area attracts international and domestic tourists by its majestic mountains, villages, pristine landscapes and unique culture and cuisine. In addition to famous tourist destinations such as Fansipan peak, Silver waterfall, May bridge, Ban Ho, Ta Van, Ta Phin, Sa Pa also creates new attraction with four seasons of festivals; Cat Cat - the most beautiful village in the Northwest or Su Pan community tourism area.
