Provincial Association of War Veterans: Actively participate in protecting the Party, government and people

Promoting the tradition and qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", the Veterans Association at all levels of Quang Ninh has actively participated in the work of building and protecting the Party, government and people; promoted the emulation movement "Exemplary veterans" with the highest determination, achieving many important results.

The Provincial Veterans Association awarded certificates of merit to outstanding Veterans Association Branch Chairmen on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Vietnam Veterans' Traditional Day, December 6 (1989-2024).

The work of building and protecting the Party, the government and the people has been effectively implemented by the Provincial Association of War Veterans in recent times. The Standing Committee of the Provincial Association of War Veterans has directed all levels of the association to thoroughly grasp Directive No. 05-CT/TW (dated May 15, 2016) of the 12th Politburo on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle in conjunction with the implementation of Resolution No. 4 of the Central Committee (12th and 13th terms) on strengthening Party building and rectification; Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW (dated May 18, 2021) of the Politburo on continuing to implement Directive No. 05-CT/TW; Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW of the Politburo on strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views, and defeating the plots and tricks of " peaceful evolution", "self-evolution", and "self-transformation" within the Party.

Implementing the direction of the Central Steering Committee 35 and the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Veterans Association has maintained the activities of the public opinion collaborators' group well to reflect public opinion and orient ideology; actively grasp news, synthesize and write articles; mobilize members to participate in competitions launched by the Central and local levels. In 2024, the Veterans Associations at all levels in the province sent 28,251 exam papers to the Law Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association; 8,172 exam papers to learn about the Law on Identification; nearly 7,000 exam papers to the Law on Civil Defense; over 6,500 exam papers to learn about the Law on Forces participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level.

In 2024, the Provincial Veterans Association coordinated to produce hundreds of news, articles, and reports reflecting on the infrastructure of the Provincial Media Center, the newsletter of the Central Vietnam Veterans Association, the Civil Affairs magazine, the Military Region 3 newsletter... highlighting good people and good deeds, good models, new ways of doing things, typical and advanced veterans... Thereby helping the veterans' association members in the province fully grasp the emulation movement "Exemplary veterans" and official information about the world situation in the country and in the province.

Currently, the provincial Veterans Association has a total of 55,300 members, operating at 263 association bases and 1,802 branches. There are 14,124 members of the Veterans Association who are party members, of which 2,757 members participate in the executive committee of the Veterans Association at all levels; there are 3,216 Veterans participating in the political system from the province to the village and residential area. The members are party members with strong political will, good moral qualities, experience, enthusiasm, exemplary, and responsibility to meet the requirements of the task of building the Veterans Association in the new situation; at the same time, this is also a team to supplement the source of cadres to organize the association to achieve quality and efficiency.

The War Veterans Associations at all levels in the province have also effectively implemented the movement to participate in ensuring security and order and traffic safety in localities and establishments. Currently, the War Veterans Associations at all levels in the province are maintaining the activities of 2,422 self-managed people's groups on security and order with war veterans as the core. The groups have directly participated in coordinating patrols to ensure security and order and traffic safety, especially before, during and after the Lunar New Year, the holidays of April 30, May 1... every year.

In 2024, the self-governing people's security and order groups with veterans as the core in the province coordinated to organize 5,297 patrols with the participation of 28,000 veterans' association members. In addition, the groups also participated in propagating traffic safety and preventing accidents and risks for 8,574 students at schools across the province.

Along with that, the War Veterans Associations at all levels in the province also actively coordinated with the government, associations, and socio-political organizations to participate in supporting the recovery of the consequences of storm No. 3 (Yagi). In particular, the whole association mobilized over 40,000 members to participate in cleaning up the environment, broken trees, and helping members whose houses collapsed or had their roofs blown off to stabilize their lives. Typical are the War Veterans Associations in the localities of Ha Long, Cam Pha, Van Don, Uong Bi... Responding to the call of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee to overcome the damage caused by storm No. 3, the War Veterans Associations at all levels and the Provincial War Veterans Enterprise Association donated over 1.2 billion VND.

The War Veterans Associations at all levels in the province coordinate with the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations at the same level to propagate and mobilize people to resolve disputes, complaints and compensation for land acquisition and clearance in accordance with the Party and State's policies and laws; mobilize cadres, members of the War Veterans Association and people to properly implement the grassroots democracy regulations, village conventions and conventions on building cultural residential areas. In 2024, the War Veterans Associations at all levels in the province successfully participated in the mediation of 168 cases, preventing insecurity and disorder; participated in educating and successfully rehabilitating 229 people who made mistakes to reintegrate into the community...

The Provincial Association of War Veterans also regularly cares about and educates the young generation about revolutionary traditions, so that they can strive to study, practice virtue and talent, and be ready to meet the requirements of innovation, integration and development, and meet the requirements of the revolutionary cause in the new situation.

Chairman of the Provincial Association of War Veterans, Dam Huy Dac, affirmed: War Veterans Association members in the province always have correct and clear awareness, have strong political will, and have absolute trust in the leadership of the Party and local Party Committees. Actively participate in building and protecting the Party, government, and people, protecting the socialist regime, and building a great national unity bloc. Be exemplary in propagating and mobilizing people to successfully carry out assigned political tasks, making achievements to celebrate the success of Party congresses at all levels and national holidays in 2025.
