More than 50 fishermen and Border Guards rescued a squid fishing boat that was sunk by waves.

On October 21, speaking with Dan Viet newspaper reporter, Mr. Dao Xuan Vinh - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Bao Ninh commune (Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh province), said: "More than 50 fishermen in the area, along with the Border Guard and the Urban Rules and Order Team of Dong Hoi city, have just successfully rescued a squid fishing boat that sank at the mouth of Nhat Le river."

Accordingly, on the morning of October 21, the squid fishing boat of fisherman Nguyen Xuan Thuy (in Dong Duong village, Bao Ninh commune, Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh province) encountered big waves and sank at the mouth of Nhat Le river when it came ashore.

There were 2 people on board at that time and they swam safely to shore while the ship sank completely.

Fishermen from Bao Ninh commune (Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh province) and authorities pulled the sunken fishing boat ashore.

Upon receiving the news, the Farmers' Association of this commune called on fishermen to mobilize people and fishing boats to come to the rescue.

The Border Guard and the Urban Order and Regulation Team of Dong Hoi City also sent people and jet skis. By the 13th of the same day, the boat of fisherman Nguyen Xuan Thuy was pulled ashore. The estimated damage was more than 150 million VND.

After 7 hours, fisherman Nguyen Xuan Thuy's boat was pulled ashore.

Mr. Dao Xuan Vinh - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Bao Ninh Commune (Dong Hoi City, Quang Binh Province), shared: "The spirit of solidarity and mutual love of Bao Ninh fishermen and the full support of the authorities have successfully rescued the sunken ship. We also hope that authorities at all levels will soon dredge the Nhat Le River mouth so that ships and boats can easily enter and exit the shore."
