This year, candidates for the first round of university admission have had 20 days to register and adjust their wishes on the Ministry's online admission system.
GD-DT, from July 10 to 30. Candidates, whether they have been conditionally admitted to the university through the early admission methods before or not, must register on this system without limiting the number of NV and can adjust the NV unlimited times. After that time, the Ministry's admission system will lock the registration and NV adjustment function so that candidates can continue to pay the admission fee and complete the NV confirmation. However, up to this point, many parents and candidates have expressed concern because they missed a registration step on this online system.
Candidates taking the 2023 high school graduation exam
TPN (living in Ho Chi Minh City) said that he had registered for admission to the interior design and architecture majors at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education and Ton Duc Thang University. Previously, this candidate had taken the aptitude test to get the admission results for these majors. However, while registering on the Ministry's system, he did not check the "Other admission data" box. Only now did this candidate know that this is a necessary step if admission is based on aptitude test scores. "I went to the university to submit my application but was not accepted, so I sent it to the Ministry of Education and Training. I am very worried that not doing this will affect my NV registration results," this candidate said.
From a Facebook forum, many parents have compiled a list of cases of TS who, because they forgot or did not know, did not tick the above box. These parents plan to petition the Ministry of Education and Training to reopen the software so that TS has a chance to fix or have an official answer about this. The list up to now has nearly 150 cases, registered for admission to many different universities but have not ticked the box "Other admission data".
A representative of a school that uses aptitude test scores and international English certificates in this year's admission, Dr. Nguyen Trung Nhan, Head of Training Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, explained: "Even if a candidate does not check the box "Other admission data", he/she will still be considered for admission because this score data has been updated by the schools to the common system. Of course, the candidate must register for the correct major, the NV will review that data and follow the correct steps to confirm NV according to regulations."
Regarding this issue, in an interview with Thanh Nien Newspaper, a representative of the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training) said that if the candidate has taken the aptitude test according to the university's regulations, has registered for the correct major and the university has considered this aptitude test on the Ministry of Education and Training's system, there is no need to worry. The candidate's aptitude test results are updated by universities on the system, and the school will use that data to consider admission for the candidate.
