Discover the "sea world" of Cu Lao Cham

From Cua Dai tourist port (Hoi An Dong ward), visitors travel by speedboat for about 20 minutes to reach Cu Lao Cham. Diving is an experience chosen by many visitors to "touch" the beautiful, colorful marine world in Cu Lao Cham.

According to the Management Board of Cu Lao Cham Marine Protected Area, coral reefs spread along the islands with a variety of shapes and colors create a shimmering picture on the seabed.

Diving in Cu Lao Cham has many different forms and levels.

The first is basic shallow diving with supporting equipment such as mask, snorkel and life jacket. This service is provided by all travel companies on the Cua Dai - Cu Lao Cham route. Mr. Nguyen Minh Quang, representative of Phuc Hai Diving Company, said that this is the simplest form of diving, loved by young people and is a popular choice for tourists when experiencing diving in Cu Lao Cham today. The diving area for this experience is mainly at coral diving spots on the islands of Hon Dai, Bai Xep, Bai Nan...

The second experience is snorkeling. This is a more professional form of diving, enjoyed by foreign tourists. The equipment for this experience is supplemented by a pair of fins for more convenient speed adjustment. The experience area and time of this activity is longer towards the western coral reefs of Cu Lao Cham.

The third experience is scuba diving with equipment and supplementary oxygen - scuba diving (tourists must ensure health: blood pressure, heart, no open wounds...). This is a professional form of scuba diving and applies to tourists with a diving certificate issued by a competent authority (PADI, SSI...).

The fourth experience is the underwater walking service. It is known that this service is currently only provided by one company in Cu Lao Cham. Before participating in this experience, divers will be instructed on methods and techniques by instructors. Then, divers will guide you into the water with oxygen supply equipment from the boat; divers will lead you to observe marine life and corals along the path designed on the seabed.

In 2023, Traveldudes ranked Cu Lao Cham in the top 4 best diving areas in Vietnam. Traveldudes described that the best time to dive in Cu Lao Cham is from April to September with sea water temperature around 26 - 29 degrees Celsius.

According to locals, now is the most ideal time of year for tourists to come to Cu Lao Cham to experience scuba diving.
